Onianidala but canon and painful plz
ok ok ok I could ramble about this for. awhile.
First let me say that this is only technically canon compliant post-prequels (aka it's compliant plot-wise for the Kenobi show and the original trilogy and what that includes) with the assumption that obianidala were together during the Clone Wars.
The thing that compels me, which nearly always compels me whenever I think about Star Wars, is the tragedy of Obi-Wan (infinite sadness, etc). I started thinking about this when Kenobi came out and how awful it would be.
Like, go through this thought experiment with me: Obi-Wan knows Padme is pregnant. He might even be the father. But he has to give up his kids. He probably won't ever know them; he shouldn't ever know them, not for a long time, for their own safety. But then Bail comes to him saying that Leia has gone missing, and when he finds her, a girl who should've been his daughter but never got the chance to be, and he has to keep himself from persuing a connection with her? Perpetually losing my mind over that, actually.
And don't even get me started on what that would mean for his and Luke's relationship.
Anyway, here's a little snippet!
There was a moment, when Obi-wan was sitting across from Bail and Master Yoda, that he considered putting up a fight. It would have been so easy. Restraint stripped by grief, Obi-wan, once started down that path, wouldn’t have taken no for an answer. He would have raised his children as his own, just as the three of them had planned before…before. But once Bail offered to take Leia, all the strength left him. He has never been good around children. How could he expect to raise one, let alone two, without the others? So he fought back the lump in his throat and offered to take Luke to Tatooine, to Owen and Beru.
