As much as I like the game(kind of don't), relearning your character is abysmal after years of training, trying and figuring it out and making things work
The strive changes for the characters balance is a good one, but fffffff........ Well, the main things I've used to get close and fast as Anji doesn't work and wild assault got sent to the shadow realm, though the new counter move is pretty cool, but I don't see that you can do much with it
His down heavy moves forward with nerfed launch for better offence? The thing is, it's still pretty damn slow and it's abysmal against fast characters and it's quite reactable, but! Good that you are in the positive on block, so you can continue pressuring (if you don't get decked in the face first), but I'd say that it could be useful in combos. MID SCREEN, can't have shit mid screen(silly), it's harder to do combos that get the opponent into the corner faster....
OH, FUJIIN. That was changed and has thrown me off balance completely. Basically: fujin nagiha(sweep) into kick is NOT POSSIBLE anymore, so I can't do my silly little move that goes fujin nagiha(sweep) > kick > fujin rin(overhead) > red roman cancel > kou > j.d > j.d/kick (and maybe j.d again? Don't remember)
You need to think more because people can tech you on uncharged rin (what I'm reading and if understanding right?). Can't do fujin into fujin/kou/spin, but it's not something that I've used often, so no biggie on that
And you know how much a glue huffing gorilla fucking HAATTEESS neutral game. My ass needs to use the butterfly more and that means running away/back dashing and that's barely an option when I'm playing against my mates AND THAT.... and that you can't roman cancel a back dash in general now....
ON ANOTHER NOTE.... The charged fujin follow-ups look really cool and do more damage, though one still needs more braincells for the use(I don't quite have).
Suigetsu No Hakobi, or also known as (gorilla) spin, got kicked down in the sense that you do less damage after you auto guard/parry an opponent's move and the fish follow up went down from 60 to 40 damage (MY FUCKING FISH VRO..../silly). So, none of the "HAHA, SPIINN, I SLAP YOU WITH MAH FEESH AND YOUR HP GOES BBBBRRRR" type of thing.
And the last thing is that the parry super/overdrive is less active and you recover slower from it, plus you can't roman cancel out of it if you mess up.. but RC out of one of the supers was put with all of the characters, so I don't have much to say here.
And I have vented my frustration about change, so now I shall fall back into my cycle
