Magic exists in the comic book universe in the same way that it does in the marble universe, in that it is not an unobtrusively apparent part of life, kind of akin to the unsleeping safe from dropout, in that those who are aware of it are capable of interacting with it on a regular basis even out in the public but those who are not have no ability to interact with it until they have that perception.
On top of that all of the magic specifically sits in schools, not some Hogwarts type horseshit, I mean as in the types of magic capable of being done are only capable of being done by being expressed through schools.
In the grand cosmological scale, magics are radiation, it's the energy emanating off of the cosmological structure that is the thing by which all things exist, The Plane Of Everything, opposed by its opposite, where death (as in the absolute eradication of the individual on a cosmological and metaphorical and metaphysical scale not just getting shot and eating it, full on your soul no longer exists not even scattered to the winds literally just undone type shit) comes from The Plan Of Nothing
One's an overwhelming force that destroys and sucks in and always affects something in some way even though there are systems and organizations and groups working to actively keep consciousnesses out of that plane. There's a full-on grim reaper lantern corps essentially that just sit around and stop the souls from getting absolutely eradicated unless it's someone who they personally take that place. They're still grim reapers.
But then on the inverse we have the schools of magic, unlike an actual what I intended for it to be on a metaphorical scale, the plane of everything is just the concept of narrative, creativity, kind of a combination of The House Of Ideas and The Land Of Nothings from marvel, in that it's existence is potential. It is not one thing ever in any capacity because it's everything. It's not just all things it is.. That's the idea behind it The concept of anything comes from this everything. In the same way that absolute on making comes from the ultimate source of nothing.
There's a third thing that just kind of decided to exist one day that became the rest of reality and that's where all of existence kind of comes from, effectively the entirety of all existences and realities and dimensions and universes all that jazz all the delineating structures that do have proper terminology and like systems behind them in the story already, act as a metaphysical immune system to the most malevolent direct force of evil in the story literally just entropy personified, CHAOS.
No magic messes with chaos. Death cannot destroy chaos because it is not anything and it is not nothing, it is the nullthing, The infantly expansive head atop the infinite steps of the ziggurat. It is the sky and the Earth by which the structures of the worlds that exist within it comprehend reality from. It is like the 7th cosmos but if he was a rat bastard, Just. That is his characterization just evil terrible nasty little fucker who likes to see bad things happen, he's just shitty Galactica But at the same time infinitely more complex on a like "power scale" scale.
