she’s curious, and just slightly bit intimidated. this area of town isn’t what she’s used to, and while it isn’t frightening at all, it’s unfamiliar and yein wishes for the safety of her own streets. her fingers curl into her jacket, swallowing thickly as she meanders her way down the street. everything is new to her– some street signs she sees igniting recognition in her head but she’s sure she probably has walked in circles.
maybe even multiple times; yein’s lost track.
she lets out a stuttered breath, nervous laughter escaping her. she’s uncomfortable and just the slightest bit frightened– so when she sees a somewhat nice looking girl not too far away, yein is nearly tripping over her feet to get near. “aah, excuse me! could you help me?”
yein is all wide eyes and curiosity. “do you– do you know how to get to sopa from here?” she’s hopeful; if she can at least get back to the school she can figure out her way home from there. “i– i wasn’t…paying attention to where i was going and i don’t really know where i am anymore..”
helping her mom drop off gifts for her friends isn’t something she minds in particular, but it certainly doesn’t help that the last address sits on a quite desolated area with close to no signs of human habitation. most of the shops in the area looks abandoned despite the “open” sign that hangs from the doors, and only one or two cars pass every now and then. a big part of the silence surely is due to the fact that the road winds around the deeper parts of the neighborhood, long roads circling hidden family restaurants and gimmick stores.
class starts in 50 minutes and she’s at least 15 minutes away from her campus by bus. striding quickly, her gaze hops from one plate to another, trying to find the last address she hasn’t crossed out through. standing by the side of the road, she decides to go to the minimart first for a bottle of water to keep her hydrated. just as she’s about to cross the road, a girl in familiar mustard yellow clothing approaches her.
“sopa? that’s quite far from here, you must’ve walked a lot.” her eyes widen at the confession and she can’t help but wander how deep in thought you have to be in order to subconsciously lose your way. looking around, she points at a right turn near the end of a road and smiles warmly. “if you go that way, you’ll see a park. just stay to the right side of the park and take a left once you see a tonymoly shop. and then…” stopping in the middle of her sentence, the girl decides to skip the directions and just walk her towards the nearest bus stop. “you know what, i’ll walk you there. i’m about to be late for class myself so i should start walking to the bus stop too.”
