Random sheet mask review: Yejimiin With Jeju Yuzunos Brightening Mask.
Ingredients here.
What it says: little English on package except for directions and ingredients; homepage is informative though: “The whitening functional mask sheet makes dull skin look clear and bright. Brightens skin for brighter you tomorrow than today. Vitamin fiber sheet contains vitamin C & E which is the best for skin restoration and brightening. The whitening functional mask sheet makes dull skin look clean and clear with the compound function of citron complex sourced from the pristine Jeju.” etc.
This brand is all new to me, as I understand they are better known for their sanitary pads, etc. The mask was a freebie from TesterKorea; saw no immediate problems on the long ingredient list, nor when patch testing (except for strong fragrance), so here we go.
Their thing seems to be innovative fibres in mask sheets. This one is a vitamin fibre sheet, and it is duly printed with orange slices of what I suppose are yuzunos (it’s not great, since it kind of looks like a patchy rash once you’ve put it on). The mask sheet is huge. HUGE. Tosowoong’s hefty masks don’t even come close, and the boyf made wookie noises at me, as I draped it on and it hung off my jawline. Covers all of my large forehead, reaches well under my chin and well over my hairline on the sides. The cut of the holes is not bad, but still, the sheet is way too cumbersome. And the fancy material does not cling all that well and isn’t easy to smooth out, so the sheet part of the experience is entirely meh to me. The essence is cloudy and kind of thick, does not drip, which is good. It is probably the strongest-smelling mask I’ve used though, very citrussy, which I can deal with, since I don’t mind citrus smells, but still, not exactly an upside. There is a tiny bit of tingling at first application, I assume it’s quite acidic with all the Vit C in it. The finish is a bit tacky, but not sticky, at least that’s good. It is however drying kind of fast for such a hefty-sized, 25 ml mask. The recommended use is 20 min, and it’s hard to get much more than 30 of quality masking time out of this.
The homepage price for it is 4000 won, which is ~4 $, so not that cheap. I’m glad I didn’t pay for it tbh. It’s somewhat interesting, but unless my face has magically de-aged by 10 years by the morning, I don’t see myself repurchasing.
