He had never been much for tears. Tears were for people who didn’t have to be strong for others; people without brothers who were more precious than their own feelings. People who weren’t Yejun. But there is always that one person who you’re able to let down walls with, and for Bang Yejun that person was his best friend Kwon Jiyong.
They had been through so much together. It was with his help that the resistance had turned the way it did, that his brothers were as safe as they were, that he had enough confidence to carry on each day and stand up and be the leader people asked for and needed in the face of such impossible odds. Yejun managed because Jiyong was beside him; holding him up and keeping him strong.
Unless they were alone. That’s when he could take the mask down; not hold his head so high and act like he had it all together. That’s when Jiyong got to really hold him up, not just physically but mentally. Thats when things got heated, when all the frustrations and disappointments and let downs came out and Jiyong was there to catch every one of them and throw them away because Yejun wasn’t strong enough to do it himself.
Like now, when there were hot tears streaming down his face and Jiyong’s hands were pressing into him and keeping him grounded. When somehow with all the chaos going on around them Jiyong made it seem like they were the only two people left. When the tears in his eyes turned from pain and frustration into love and appreciation and finally into pleasure. These were the times when Yejun knew he was going to be okay.
Because Jiyong never judged him. Not when they were working, and not when they were both naked and flushed with Yejun’s legs wrapped around his waist. Not when there were soft cries of pleasure dropping from his lips every time Jiyong pressed into him and not when Yejun sobbed his name as he came. And never when they were laying in bed, a massive pile of tangled limbs and soft caresses after Yejun had collapsed and Jiyong didn’t feel like moving him.
The only thing Jiyong ever showed him was love. The kind of love that only happened once in a lifetime. The kind of love that if you ever lost it neither one would ever forget. The kind of love that hurt so badly when you weren’t together you could feel it in your bones. That’s what Jiyong was to him, and thats what he would be until the day Yejun died.
