Max patiently lent his visage today so I could experiment with some products I’d recently acquired and the techniques needed to use them. The first look we did consisted of angelic, radiant, glowy skin with a soft-focus lip. Matte skin is usually necessary on the shoots I’ve worked on, particularly film shoots, so I appreciated the opportunity to highlight liberally. Four different highlighters - liquid, cream and powder - were used for this look.
For the second look we added a radioactive green glossy eye. However, the reflection and sheen of this vinyl-lidded look was hard to capture on an iPhone in natural light. It’s a staple look in fashion photography but I wouldn’t recommend it for everyday wear unless rampant creasing is your thing. Someone needs to invent an eye gloss that sets, stays shiny, isn’t sticky, yet is pliable enough to accommodate blinking...
