Halloween Traditions
Pairing: Yelena x Fem!Reader

Warnings: fluff
Prompt: in the ask
AN: it didnt turn out quite how i wanted but i hope you still enjoy it!
"Lena please?" You switched which ear your phone was under and readjusted your hold on the purple plastic box in your arms. You color coordinated all your holiday boxes and purple and black were your spooky indoor decorations.
"Yes, yes, okay. I will have it all sorted by Halloween with everything I will need for the outside." You could tell by the tone of her voice that your girlfriend was already devising something positively wicked for the outside of your split level house.
You had already put some small pumpkins, a few small square hay barrels, and a sign that said Happy Haunting vertically on the little porch in front of your house. The doormat read 'It's All Just A Bunch Of Hocus Pocus' in a fun cursive font and you had even managed to put a cute half moon wreath on the door.
You weren't sure why you had entered into the decoration contest in your neighborhood's HOA but suddenly you found the deadline approaching and your time cut short. You closed the door that led to the storage under your stairs with your foot and headed upstairs.
"Just remember that there's loads of kids on the block this year. I know that they were planning an apple bob and lots of fun activities for the kids while they trick-r-treat. So please nothing too crazy, baby." You half pleaded with her. This was your first halloween together and you were nervous that this might be pushing it too far. The blonde Russian had only been over to your house a handful of times.
"There's no need to worry, detka. You can trust me." You sighed in relief into the phone, plopping the box down on the floor of your living room upstairs.
"Always, firefly." With that Yelena hung up. She was overly focused on the task at hand and you knew without a doubt that her imagination was probably going wild.
Yelena came over every weekend, ushering you inside and telling you not to look outside. She was covering everything in tarps until it was Halloween and seemed giddy with the anticipation of her surprise for you. You were so tempted to look but knew with her super spy training she'd be able to tell and you didn't want to disappoint her. So you focused on the inside of your house.
"You really collect these every year?" The blonde turned toward you from the little table you had set up in the hallway. It displayed your Halloween village. You bought at least one new piece for it every year and so far had half of the village available for purchase.
"It's my tradition." You shrugged from your spot on the living room floor, knife in hand and pumpkin carcass all over the floor. You hadn't noticed the way Yelena's eyes lit up when you said tradition. You were too focused on the task at hand.
---
You had just finished putting the candy in the bowl when the doorbell rang. The first trick or treater of the night. You readjusted the black witches hat on your head and headed down the steps to the landing in between the floors of your house.
"Baby!" You instantly smiled at the blonde who was slightly out of breath on your stoop.
"So, I might have gone a little overboard." The blonde's accent wrapped itself around you like a coil as she moved so you could step out of the house. She had managed to transform your yard into a spooky pumpkin patch with a giant black creepy pumpkin headed decoration right beside the walkway. It had a small motion light that you could barely make out and in between the rows of pumpkins there were fog machines and red lights here or there highlighting a particularly menacing looking carved pumpkin.
"Oh, wow." You hugged the bowl to your stomach as you took it in. It was incredibly impressively. You were almost taken a back by how much she had done for you when your relationship was still so new. "You didn't have to do all this for me Lena."
"I wanted to. This is my favorite American holiday and what better way to celebrate it than by decorating for you." She smiled at you and you could see all of her front teeth. It was a rare smile and it fully reached her green eyes. They sparkled at you as she leaned down to quickly capture your lips with hers. It was a soft kiss but it sent a zap of electricity right through you from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Yelena retreated just as fast as she had entered your personal bubble. You made a sad face at the sudden loss but turned as the head of the HOA walked down the path to where you stood with your bowl.
Her daughter reached you first, the pumpkin head of the giant figure swiveling to look down at her menacingly, its long claws extending open and then closing. She was dressed up like a character from an action movie that had just recently come out for kids that couldn't quite place.
"Trick or treat!" The little girl half screamed at you, bag extended. She paid no mind to the intimidating pumpkin headed figure or any of the pumpkins littering your yard. You grabbed a handful of the candy, having several more bags in your house, and dropped them in her bag.
"Looks like someone is going to win the contest this year!" The HOA president finally caught up to her daughter. She was a middle aged woman with curly red hair and an attitude to match. No one had run against her for the HOA since she had originally won it years ago.
"Oh that's all thanks to this one." You poked Yelena in the side.
Poppy turned toward her daughter and motioned at you with her face. In a classic display of her parenting, the little girl went wide eyed and then shouted a quick "Thank you!" towards you before quickly skipping over to your neighbor Brenda.
"I'm sure I'll be back to give you the award later tonight so don't go too far." Poppy laughed with her whole body, winked at you, and then grabbed a piece of candy from your bowl. As she unwrapped it she headed towards her daughter who was very quickly making her way down the street.
"That's the most she's ever talked to me." You shook your head slightly and looked at your girlfriend. She had dressed up as a cowboy, the boots and hat making one of your eyebrows raise. You never thought you'd see her wearing so much denim and you raked your eyes up and down her form.
"Get used to it my darling. I think I have found my Halloween tradition." Yelena settled her hands on her waist, twinkle in her eyes, as she watched the next group of kids get scared from the pumpkin headed figure by the walkway.

The Setup
Pairing: Bodyguard!Kate Bishop x Fem!Reader
Word count: 800+
Warnings: mentions of violence, creepy monsters
Prompt: in the ask
AN: this was a lot of fun! Hope you like it! I just saw you asked for GN! Reader and i didn't do that lol. Lmk if you want me to rewrite.
The monsters moved toward you in slow motion, their joints popping, the movements looking disjointed in the lights coming from the tall wall behind you. You had grown up behind the wall and everyone who lived in the wall knew that monsters were terrifying. They made the latest horror movies look like child's play.
The monster unhinged its jaw and screamed. You dropped to the ground and covered your ears. Where was Kate? She said she'd follow you anywhere after your parents died. Kate's contract was terminated after their deaths but Kate had grown attached to you and she knew if she left you to your own devices, you wouldn't make it very long.
This was just supposed to be a simple retrieval mission. The reports from their contacts early in the night said the monsters were staying far from the wall. Nice to see that was a lie. You reached for the machete across your back and just as you looked up ready to charge the monster, you finally spotted Kate. Bow in hands she slid on the ground to your right and drew the string back. The arrows she used always had purple plastic feathers in them. Her cargo pants and tank top were black. No wonder you couldn't find her. She had blended in around you.
The monster screamed as the arrow sunk unnaturally into its hide. You recognized the scream, having heard it enough times by now with your jaunts to the other side of the wall. It was calling for others. It was calling for its mother. The ground shook slightly as Kate locked eyes with you.
"We need to run." She never said the words aloud but you had been around Kate long enough that you knew what her small nods meant.
"Lead the way." Your body language said back. As quick as she had her bow out, it was slung over her back where she always kept it.
The terrain around you was dry and dusty. You could hear the popping disjointed movement of the monster behind you. It was trying desperately to catch up but the arrow Kate sunk into its slick flesh must've gone further in than it first appeared.
You ducked under the remnants of a sign and followed after Kate. One of the underground bunkers, the people of the White Crane syndicate group you were a part of, was coming up soon. You heard Kate throw the latch and as gracefully as you could you dove into it. The concrete hurt as you tumbled down but you heard the door latch and the rumbling come from above of a very angry, very big monster. You pulled the string hanging from the ceiling and a dull yellow light blinked to life.
"What were you thinking going out by yourself?" Kate turned to you once her boots hit the concrete flooring. Her eyebrow shot up as her ponytail bounced behind her head.
"I thought, oh what a lovely way to ruin Kate's night. I'm sure the monsters won't mind if we have a lovely jog." You scowled at her and crossed your arms. "I took a simple snatch and dash. Half a mile from the gate in a bunker. Wexley said the coast was clear of monsters and guards."
"The wall was crawling with guards. I had to take out at least 5 just on my way to catch up to you. You've got to be more careful. I'm supposed to watch out for you." Kate's big blue eyes pleaded with you to see reason. She was only a few years older than you but had lived outside of the wall for years before your parents took her in. "And a swarm is obviously moving through!"
"I'm sorry, okay! It was a setup. I just wanted to be able to do something without you for once." You pinched the bridge of your nose in frustration, the dust from outside settling onto your skin. You'd need a shower later, that was for sure.
"Babygirl, what have we talked about?" She walked up to you and gently moved your chin so that you had to look her in the eyes.
"That I'm not a burden to you and that we stick together." You mumbled in her gaze.
"And?" Kate drew out, kissing you on the cheek.
"That I'm a pain in your ass but you love me and wouldn't trade me for anything." You finished. Kate hummed in approval as she gently brought her lips to yours. It was a soft and gentle kiss. Something to remind you that you weren't alone. She slowly pulled away from you and turned to see what was leftover in the bunker from previous people.
"I'm less scared of the monsters and more scared that there's a killer on the loose. Why else would you get set up like that? We have a good reputation with the White Cranes." Kate shook her hair out of her ponytail, dust poofing around you like powdered sugar in a bakery.
"That's just a rumor, relax. We don't have any proof. It could've just been a really bad coincidence?" You offered up. The hope you felt was evident in your voice.
"We can look into it tomorrow. For now, help me get a bed together baby."
Just sliding this underneath your door, you don’t have to write if you don’t wanna 🥰

AN: please imagine Yelena is singing Jade Birds version. Thanks so much for the ask! It marinated for a while haha. Hope you enjoy!
You watched the trees from your spot in the back of the chevy tahoe that America had convinced her mom to let her borrow for the trip into the remote mountain with your best friend's other friends. You were adults but after organizing the trip the blonde with the sharp green eyes pointed out that the group would need 4-wheel drive on the winding road to the remote cabin in the middle of the Appalachian mountains. The road trip from your college campus was only 8 hours but being trapped in a vehicle with people you only vaguely knew for your best friend was a sacrifice of a weekend you would gladly make. Kate had helped you the following year through the worst break up you had ever had and the thought of her wiping your tears for you and playfully telling you to shower danced in your mind every time Yelena rolled her eyes when you spoke.
Kate, your taller and slightly more athletic, best friend turned to check on you from her seat in the middle row. Peter Parker had opted to sit next to her, which left you all alone in the far back of the SUV. The road tossed the cab around and you resisted the urge to grab onto the seats beside you to steady yourself. Your headphones blared your favorite music in your ears as Kate stared at you for a second. You could see out of the corner of your eye that she had said something funny. Everyone but you laughed and you subconsciously squirmed in your seat.
Peter and America had been incredibly polite and welcoming to you at the meeting the group had thrown a week before the trip. Peter brought your favorite snack for the road trip, a question he had asked you at the meeting. America let you have first pick of the seats and so you couldn't entirely fault anyone for not sitting beside you but you were here for Kate and she knew on some level you'd need some time to get used to everyone before they truly saw you.
Yelena had said nothing to you at the meeting and seemed to be purposefully ignoring you. It was as if she thought if she didn't acknowledge you that you would go away. Yelena's hair was in a braid and you tried hard not to look at the sunlight reflecting in her eyes as she turned in her seat to say something back to Kate. You felt the heat in your cheeks as you looked back out of the window.
It wasn't too long after you burned your gaze into the window that the road opened up and the cabin was before the group. Kate started to bring in the bags while everyone picked their room. You hung behind with Kate and helped her move the bags inside. You made sure you didn't touch Yelena's army camo duffel bag as you shuffled inside. Your backpack hung comfortably on your back. It was an old hiking backpack that you had turned into your overnight bag.
"Did you see those cumulonimbus clouds earlier?" Peter asked as he grabbed his red and black nike duffel bag from your hands. "It's totally gonna storm tonight. They were so dark."
"Uh, yeah." You replied awkwardly. Peter's big brain had surprised you. He looked like a dumb jock but had clearly taken his studies seriously. You briefly shuddered at the mention of the storm and hoped he hadn't noticed. Kate was the only one you had told of your deathly fears of thunder but as long as your headphones were charged and your phone had service you could listen to music to tune out the storm. Literally.
"All of the rooms have been claimed but the couch in the living room is a pull out." Yelena eyed you and uncrossed her arms long enough to grab her bag from Kate. She didn't wait for you to respond, her white and black striped adidas sneakers squeaked on the hardwood flooring as she stalked back towards where she came from.
"She'll warm up to you in no time. It took her a while to like me too." Kate smiled at you and winked as she headed down the hall to her own room. You turned toward the living room and set your bag down on the couch. You watched some birds settle in a nearby tree and missed Yelena watching you from the hallway. She studied your facial expressions and scoffed to herself lightly as she headed into the kitchen.
You played a few board games and watched a movie with everyone. Kate tried to get you into the conversation but Yelena would change the subject when you had finally found a groove in the social pyramid of the group. Peter and Kate were the best at Cards Against Humanity, Yelena was the best at Risk, America had dominated at Clue, and you couldn't help but feel a little out of place.
You had only been asleep for 30 minutes when the first boom of the thunder shook the little cabin. You startled awake and threw your blanket off. The thin mattress of the pull out couch squished under you as you swiftly moved into the kitchen. Your hands were shaking as you watched the lighting in the sky. The next boom of thunder you knew to expect but still jumped high in the air. Your legs moved fast as you tried to find your phone and headphones but another crack of thunder had you on your knees in the kitchen. You slide onto the ground, the cold hardwood under your legs.
You didn’t even notice how loud you were crying. Your hands were clamped over your ears as you shook beside the kitchen counters. Your breaths were coming out shaky and uneven and you squeezed your eyes shut as hard you could. You didn’t notice the air around you moving as someone sat beside you. A tentative hand touched your shoulder and in between the frantic breathing and your hands over your ears you heard a soft voice.
“A long, long time ago” The voice started to sing softly. “I can still remember how that music, Used to make me smile.” A small intake of air.
“And I knew if I had my chance, That I could make those people dance. And maybe they’d be happy for a while.” You started to subconsciously hum with the mysterious voice as you kept your eyes squeezed shut as tight as you could. You could feel the static in your head easing as you listened to the silky voice and tuned out the storm above you.
You didn’t start to sing along with the angelic voice until the chorus, having recognised the song and as your voice joined in and started to match the pitch of your savior you slowly opened your eyes. The harmony of your voices together was something people would write poetry of if they heard it. Your eyes saw emerald green ones looking at you filled with concern. Blonde hair up in a loose bun and a giant blanket hung around the both of you. It was red flannel and you could faintly smell lilac in the air.
“Ye-Yelena.” You whispered once you had concluded the song.
“That’s a long song.” She said to you, her expression not changing.
“Thank you for your help.” Your voice was still shaky but coming down from the adrenaline you could finally hear your own thoughts again. The next boom of thunder made you jump from your spot on the floor. Yelena quickly grabbed you and pulled you into her. You could hear how fast her heart was racing and it was almost as fast as yours.
“My sister gets anxiety attacks too.” Yelena explained. You could feel her shrug as the blanket was wrapped tighter around your back. She gingerly grabbed your legs and swung them over hers so you were sitting sideways in her lap. Yelena’s back was against the kitchen counter as she settled beside you.
“Its-Its the sudden loudness of it.” You confessed. You hadn’t even told Kate the specifics of your hate of thunder. You knew your best friend would support you but it still felt stupid to you to say aloud. You were 23 for Gods sake. You could handle the loud noises.
“Wanna talk about it?” She asked. You couldn’t believe the cold blonde from earlier today who wouldn’t even look at you was helping you with your anxiety.
“You don’t have to do this. You don’t have to pretend to care.” You attempted to get up from your spot but Yelena tightened her grip around you, keeping you in place.
“I do care. You aren’t who I thought you were.” She explained. “You had your headphones the second we got in the car this morning. You had them in during the meeting a week ago at the coffee shop on campus. It felt...pretentious. It was just because of unplanned loud noises, wasn’t it?” Yelena had gathered all of that from your anxiety attack in the kitchen? You nodded against her shoulder and shuddered at the sound of the storm outside.
“You aren’t who I thought you were either.” You whispered. “You never smiled at me or made jokes at me like America or Peter. I thought you were arrogant but you must care for the people you love a lot if you have to build walls up that high.” You heard Yelenas chuckled in her chest before it left her mouth.
“Yeah. You got me.” She confessed. You could hear her put her head against the counter behind her. “Hey, I’m Yelena. Kate’s friend from her criminal justice classes. I’ve heard a lot about you, Kate’s childhood best friend Y/N. Would you like to come get a coffee with me before the trip to my family's cabin up in the mountains next weekend?” You smiled to yourself. The apology Yelena was offering made your heart flutter in your chest.
“Nice to meet you Yelena. I’d absolutely love to get a coffee with you before the trip. Meet me there Friday at 3?” You accepted her apology, sending your own in the same way she had sent hers.
“Of course, Y/N. My treat.” Yelena's accent slid between your ears. The way she said your name settled in your mind. You didn’t even mind all the teasing in the morning from the group who had found Yelena and yourself all cuddled up in the kitchen against the counter, the storm long forgotten in the whispered conversation with lilac in your nose, strong arms around your back, and a quick flutter in your heart.
“Quiet down or I’ll make you” her voice was low and breathless as you choked back a few tears. She had edged you on for hours during the Sunday morning in the church and now she was finally finishing off in the confessions box. Nimble fingers ever so slightly dancing in the air as her spell went straight to your cunt. No one paid any mind to her magic as this was in fact not a normal community.
Years and years of shallow hiding and sneaking around brought you to this very moment. Witches, Lycans, Vampires and other supernatural beings all gathered around community hall to say their prayers to their higher power. So yes, magic hands? Nothing unusual, nothing mind shattering. That was until she locked eyes on you your first day partaking this weekly event and completely took over you from then on.
“Wanda please” You whined as she once again ghosted her fingertips just over your clit. “Oh baby, I’m prayin at your altar if you know what I mean” she smirked and kissed your clit quickly, the action causing you to snap your hips up. “I wanna hear you say it” she pouted and continued her teasing assault on your cunt. A rough cry of frustration escaped your lips as she pulled back completely and stood up to face you. “Do I own your mind Y/n” she murmured in the silence of the church.
Your knees buckled as a hand cane around your neck and applied just enough pressure to get your mind hazy. “You know I just gotta have it, I'll make your body a habit, you know there's some kind of magic” she spoke quietly at the shell of your ear and sucked a deliberate mark along the bottom of your jaw. “You own my mind, Wanda, always, always forever and always I- Wanda please let me cum” you screwed your eyes shut and she slipped two fingers in at your confession and gave you the ‘okay’.
Yeah, maybe Sunday wasn’t made to be the day for rest. At least not in this town, Sundays are to dance with the devil and kiss her on the lips.
Pretty When You Cry - Tease!Dom Nat, Bratty!Sub Reader
“Be a good girl for me tonight and do as I say” she hummed against your ear and trailed a few light kisses along your throat. A helpless moan escaped your lips as a particular harsh suck caught you off guard. You couldn’t help but throw your head back giving Nat better access to your neck and collarbones. Wanting more. Needing more.
