DELTARUNE TOMORROW
Underfell Tolerance’s first anniversary!
One year ago today, The Underfell Tolerance comic started, and now, it’s done, with the sequel being in active production! You've gotta admit that’s impressive, most Undertale sprite comics barely get passed SNOWDIN, let alone in this short of a time! (And hey, if you haven’t read it, you should do so!)
In this post, I’m gonna talk about… whatever i want! You can’t stop me! Let’s start with our protagonist, Emily:
Emily is the hero of our story, with a soul of patience, hence the “tolerance” subtitle. If you read the comic, however? You will find her soul trait holds some irony. Emily is a character that goes back far further than Underfell Tolerance, as she has existed since at the very least 2023. I don’t remember the exact day. And during her infancy? She SUCKED. Seriously, I am GLAD I’ve managed to make her actually have a personality. Now, how’d I come to make her the protagonist of UFT? Honestly.. I just thought “hey, this might be cool.” And now shes probably my favourite oc i’ve ever had. Like, seriously, Emily has become a character i’m proud to say is mine. I have a tendency to use old characters in new things, but Emily is a case in which that is really for the best.
Now, let’s talk about her partner in crime, Felley! Or is it Flowey? Well, about that…
Felley is an interesting case of a character, as he is quite literally the only one from UFT that did NOT get updated talksprites when the reboot happened, and honestly? Glad thats the case, cuz i love Felley’s talksprites. If you’ve been paying close attention, you may have noticed Felley being mentioned in tandem with a group of characters called the “Goober gang.” Who are they? Doesn’t matter right now! This is About Underfell Tolerance! Felley’s concept is one I honestly wish was explored more. What if Flowey accepted he wasn’t Asriel anymore? Felley is the result.
He actively doesn’t associate himself with the identity of Asriel Dreemurr, that’s a dead kid, and a product of the past. He’s also a smug little dude. Because… yeah.
Next, let’s talk about Noelle!
Ah, Noelle Holiday, the silliest of little ones! She's the second party member of Underfell Tolerance, and, I will say, recieved the biggest sprite upgrade from Underfell Tolerance's preboot, looking far better quality. Hell, even in the above gif, she has the best looking sprite of the group.
There's not much to say about her other than her being younger than she is in Deltarune, honestly, but I just like Noelle in general, she's a fun character!
Next up, Cap!
Cap is probably one of the funniest characters of Underfell Tolerance, for one simple reason.
He's literally the ONLY one without a SINGLE DESIGN CHANGE from the preboot. I'm serious. Cap is great. I love 'em.
Woshua's in general are great, but Cap really boosted my own appreciation for them.
Next up on the list is... Charlie!
Charlie is one of my personal favorite characters. Their arc had been running around in my mind since the Papyrus fight had been released, and Charlie hadn't even shown up yet! She's a cutie patootie who's also funni. "Hacker sounds" is one of my favorite jokes in the comic.
The next section revolves around *2* characters! Chara and Azreal!
Azreal's a character even older than Emily, and yet not much has really changed about them since back then, too. They're still shy, kind, and... feel insecure about singing? Well, I guess Dess is helping Azzy be less insecure about that with practice, huh!
I guess I can list some other Azzy fun facts here, too! They love tea, hate the concept of religion in general (Not people who follow it, though! They're respectful, just uncomforted by it.) , and they like dogs.
Chara's an asshole. Not much else to say, really. :3
And finally, some relatively newer characters: Carbon and Yelfle!
They were actually both created on May 14th last year.
Unfortunately, I really can't talk too much about the both of them, as they have a lot of unshown lore. But they're really fun, and I really hope you guys enjoy them on their future adventures with Emily! :3
Now to talk about other, non character things.
The name of the comic! "Underfell Tolerance" admittedly, I realized "Snaptale" would be a better name way too late...
Now I know I JUST said no more characters, but... I'm revealing some designs for future chapters early, because it's the anniversary! That's a good occasion!
This is Gleetch! The Virovirokun equivalent for Deltafell Tolerance!
This is Re: Minder! A Reporter who you'll find around the Cyber World writing about what they see.
These are the designs for Lanino and Elnina, who will appear in Chapter 3! They are some of my favorite designs for this AU.
And finally...
SERIELLE is going to be a major character in Deltafell Tolerance: Chapter 2! I hope you enjoy her, I certainly do!
Now, I'm gonna talk a little bit about 2 of my biggest inspirations for Underfell Tolerance!
Rupturedtale and Underfell: One Hell of a show! These are 2 of my favorite Undertale fan projects, and you can pretty clearly see some similarities in certain Underfell Tolerance scenes, if you read the former and play the latter, which I really suggest you to do! Jack Penthos is a very fun protagonist, and the gameplay in One hell of a show is really impressive, especially considering I'm pretty sure it was made in SCRATCH, of all things.
Oh, and obviously, Undertale is just inspirational to me in general, if not for Undertale, I wouldn't even be an aspiring artist.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this little ramble post. Stick around for Deltafell Tolerance's future chapters, folks! And remember: Stay Patient! (Cause sometimes, I don't even do that myself, so I better be able to count on you for that.)
Yelfle, you seriously remind me of Flowey. Flowey sometimes calls himself Felley, which is an anagram of your name.
