1. Who was the last person you held hands with?
The last person whom I laced fingers with was with a girl, walking down a city street with the weight of her palm against mine on a nippy autumn night. It had to have been a Friday, or a Saturday and we were walking to some destination for a dinner date in the city and only a few words passed between us letting my thoughts drift and the sounds of the city carry the conversation, amicable in our silence. The light was fading, I remember and she had impulsevely - or without thinking - grabbed my hand and I had let her for a brief spell, enjoying for the moment and how nice it can be to interlock fingers with another person in a gesture of shared intimacy. But I don't much hold hands these days, I feel it to be something to be kept between two lovers and not for a more casual relationship. I like to crook my elbow as she'll walk next to me and have her loop her arm through as we walk in stride together instead. I think this a way to display that a couple is together, without delineating "together"ness. 3. Who are you looking forward to seeing?
I am looking forward to going home after a month abroad and seeing my best friend. He and I have a bit of an odd friendship in the eyes of others; him excitable, and I a bit more muted. We also make a rule to see each other at least once a week no matter what the week previously brought, and he tells me about the books he is reading and I complain about the classes I am taking, and we go on long walks even in the cold and eat a bunch of fruit and listen to music and watch cartoons from when we were kids. It's become somewhat of a routine now, without saying, and I miss the doof. I also bought him a Christams present that I think he very much will light up at getting, so I want to see that reaction.
45. What makes you get out of bed in the morning?
This may sound silly, but what literally gets me out of bed in the morning is my cat "knocking" at my door because according to him, it's breakfast time. Nevermind that it's five am and the sun hasn't risen and I fed him about seven hours ago. I'm also a natural morning person, so I like to wake up when I'm the only one awake in the house and it's peaceful - some of the only time in a day I can have to myself. It's meditative and allows me to prepare for the day's journey. The feeling of having a productive morning before noon also is a reward unto itself. I like weekend mornings best because it usually means brunch or pancakes and orange juice and reading the newspaper or a book for pleasure.
55. Favourite blog?
This is almost like being asked to choose among children. However, because this is my blog, and I can answer these questions as I please, I will give you my current top fours for both green and blue blogs, and I recommend everyone to follow them because their blogs make me irrationally happy and I figure them to be lovely people.
Blue: yellow-lab, s-altedtears, ensuent, collapsingsea
