Saturday Adventure: Trim Castle, St Mary’s Abbey and Newtown Abbey. It was a gorgeous morning so Hank and I headed out early. We drove a hour north to County Meath where Trim Castle, St Mary’s Abbey and Newtown Abbey are located. Gorgeous and totally worth the drive. The sheep were an added bonus along the riverwalk but did require Hank to be on leash the entire time. Bummer for him. Trim Castle is the largest Anglo-Norman fortification in Ireland. The Yellow Steeple was once the bell tower of St Mary’s Abbey dating back to 1368. Newtown Abbey is a medieval monastery and national monument. #anamericaninireland #saturdayadventures #trimcastle #trimcastleriverwalk #yellowsteeple #newtownabbey #irelandlife #ireland🇮🇪 #countymeath (at Trim)
