you were born into your loneliness, your family always had better things to love. you're a hopeless romantic, of your friends there's only one or two you haven't fallen for. it's a pattern, you don't want to think about that, though. every person you get close with, your heart locks them into your life. the chains are too tight, or too heavy because they always become overwhelmed and leave. you're too much, a violently bright fire trying to be held by gentle human hands. it's no wonder you burn them. you just aren't meant for love like humans are.

“you look sad, do you want to talk about it?” “nah” “do you need me to kill someone?” “maybe”  alternatively: team tiny and intimidating when they both turn and glare at someone

going out for waffles every time inej is in ravka.  it’s an unspoken rule that they don’t talk about anything ‘work-related’ – instead, they’ll talk about their friends, or places inej has stopped at, when kuwei’s been out with someone  ( inej is the one who brings that up first, but then kuwei blinks innocently asks how’s kaz?, so that only happens once ), if inej has seen her family recently, etc. etc.  they’re also pretty happy to not talk and just enjoy each other’s company.

they’re the two smallest out of the main group, but they’re not going to let this stop them from doing basically everything they want to do.  rather than ask anyone for help, inej will climb up high places to reach things down and kuwei completely encourages this.  they’ve also been known to stand on each other’s shoulders once or twice.  ( this totally started because kuwei was slightly tipsy and said hey, you know what would be really fun, and it’s the only time they didn’t have to look up to speak to someone.  such a power trip. )  matthias walked in on this once and immediately turned around and left.
