Yemen missile attack: 100 killed, 150 injured by Iran-backed Huthi rebels
INTERNATIONAL NEWS More than 100 people were killed and dozens wounded in a missile and drone attack blamed on Huthi rebels in central Yemen, officials said Sunday.
Saturday's strike follows months of relative calm in the war between the Iran-backed Huthis and Yemen's internationally recognised government, which is supported by a Saudi-led military coalition.

The Huthis attacked a mosque in a military camp in the central province of Marib -- about 170 kilometres (105 miles) east of the capital Sanaa -- during evening prayers, military sources told AFP.
"We strongly condemn the terrorist attack on a mosque by the Huthi militias... which left more than 100 dead and dozens injured," the Yemeni foreign ministry said on Twitter...Read more.

Missiles fired from rebel-held Yemen fall near U.S. warship
Two missiles fired from rebel-held territory in Yemen landed near an American destroyer in the Red Sea, the U.S. Navy said Monday, the second such launch targeting ships in the crucial international waterway in recent days. The USS Mason, which had been conducting routine operations in international waters at the time, "detected two inbound missiles" within an hour of each other on Sunday evening. They came as a ballistic missile fired from Yemen apparently targeted a Saudi air base near the Muslim holy city of Mecca, the deepest strike yet into the kingdom by Shiite rebels and their allies.
There were no injuries to our sailors and no damage to the ship.

Yemen's Shiite rebels, known as Houthis, and their allies offered no reason for the launches, although they followed a Saudi-led airstrike on Saturday targeting a funeral in Yemen's capital, which killed over 140 people and wounded 525. The Huthis described as "unfounded" reports that they had fired missiles at the U.S. destroyer. Rebel forces "did not target any warships," according to a spokesman quoted by the insurgents' sabanews.net website.
