Universe’s light and warmth, Yeo Changgu
The song Thumbs Up! sounds like Changgu’s smile.
Okay but I will defend Kino’s character in the Pretty Pretty music video. Just look at things from his point of view.
He is the leader of a high school dance team, and has a girlfriend on the team who he shares his passions with, and they genuinely enjoy each other’s company. This Loser starts following his girlfriend around and listens to her music on her phone? Kino is understandably upset, and is a little rude and aggressive in confronting the Loser.
Loser then auditions for the dance team, allegedly because he likes dance, but he’s not even any good, and Kino now knows that the Loser is interested in his girlfriend, and is probably just trying to get into the team to get close to her. His friends laugh at the Loser, while Kino just rejects his dance team application.
Finally, the Loser/stalker tries once again to get into the dance team. Loser has improved, but Kino is still skeptical, and challenges him to a dance battle. Loser wins, and we can assume that he was accepted into the dance team, although Kino’s girlfriend isn’t leaving him for the Loser.
Basically, he may be the designated Rival, but the worst things he does are being rude to someone who was being weird about his girlfriend, and not letting a bad dancer join the dance team. He’s only the “bad guy” because he stands in the way of the main character getting the girl.
Edit: there’s a short fanfic based on this video that I think is very fair to Kino, while still having Yeo one as the sympathetic main character
For my second Pentaversary post... Have fun.

Baby’s revenge
This has got to be my favorite performance from this show, and they were a serious underdog here. To recap:
Jinho, the team leader who was least confident in his ability to arrange a song, and sure that no one would choose him.
Yuto and Yanan, two of the three “problem members” at the time, specifically the ones who struggled with Korean, and they were the smaller team, so they didn’t have as many people to cover for them.
Yeo One, who had a cold for the whole production process and final stage.
And yet they won, with this beautiful performance. Just listen to it! There was no way they could have lost!
A fitness nerd, two jocks, and an average dude for reference.
Yeo One has four entire solo songs that he wrote himself, so why does he have so few writing credits on their albums? What is he hiding?
I realized while watching Pentagon Maker that Changgu is... Dangerously charismatic. He could convince anyone that anything is a good idea. He could convince me that I had a moral responsibility to stab someone. All with a bright smile and making me happy to have someone so lively bringing light into my life.
We should all be glad he’s a good person.
