Mystic Pop Up Bar Thoughts - Ep. 6
Episode 6 starts off with Kang Bae having this hilarious dream, and a jade ring making its appearance in it. Now, a jade ring? Why would it be in Kang Bae’s dream? There goes another theory, where we all analyze it like crazy.... moving on! I’m starting to like Kang Bae & Yeo-Rin’s interactions, more and more! They’re both kind of unsure what their connection to one another is, but the attraction is there. The gout lovers movie tho.... that’s peak comic relief 😂 We also get insight on what’s up with Yeo-Rin, not to spoil much or anything, but it’s starting to all make sense.
This episode was a pretty heart-wrenching episode as well, showcasing the reality of not being able to have a child, the pure sorrow of it is enough to strike up tears in my eyes. Recently I’ve also been watching Oh My Baby, and that drama addresses the same concept as the one presented in ep. 6. It really is something hard to go through, and I liked how the drama was able to portray it.
I really liked how this episode gave us more of the trio together, the cute chaotic family that works. The scenes where they’re sneaking into Samsin’s house and trying to steal a conception prize was hilarious, which brings us to the peach conception dream.
The way they put Chief Gwi & Weol-Joo as the parents in the peach conception dream was priceless, and honestly they’re basically a married couple so it won’t hurt lol. The trio worked together, and finally accomplished their goal, which was blessing Su-gyeong with a child.
I want to rewind to the part where Chief Gwi asks Weol-Joo why she was so adamant on helping Su-gyeong. This moment was a really important moment because Weol-Joo finally told someone about her past, something that she didn’t do for 500 years until now, and that was to no one other than Chief Gwi. Weol-Joo sharing about her past, her feelings proves that she’s opening up, and trusting someone enough to tell them. After she tells him, Chief Gwi seems thoughtful afterwards, and told her that there’s two people who understand her now, besides her mother. I find that moment that they both shared, a meaningful one, and it just goes to show what kind of bond they have. I’m still putting my money on Chief Gwi being the prince, because most of the hints the writers are throwing at us points to that result. I also want to mention that Chief Gwi was basically going to be promoted to chief of police before he came and began to help Weol-Joo. Knowing that it’s a crime to steal a conception dream, he still went with her to commit it, which just goes to show that he’ll basically do anything for her. 😌
Now wrapping up, ep. 6 ends with the pop-up bar being closed down for good, due to the whole scheme of stealing a conception dream. The consequences have come, and now Chief Gwi & Weol-Joo will have to do community service, until they go on a hunt for “someone” in order to be reimbursed. I wasn’t going to talk about the preview for the next episode, but Chief Gwi in a suit and his hair all tidied up just hits differently.
