SUCH HEAVY WORDS SEEMINGLY HOLD NO IMPACT / if one were to take the bored and bland look that graces the samurai’s features . the way his shoulders don’t bunch , or the way his hands do not shake and twitch . no , vengeance is not a new concept for gintoki .
it is a word he knows WELL .
it is an action he has partaken in / and has been consumed by .
he glances to his left , staring at shop signs and the people walking near by . and thinks , not of the lingering taste of blood in his mouth from ages past . not of the silent slice of his blade , the falling head of his master . not of the rage that has , and never stopped , pumping through his blood cold and icy and as quiet as a thief .
“ any wound you let fester without proper protection ends up causing infections , ” his voice carries dead weight . comes across as if his words were carelessly construed when each part holds a lesson he’s learned from the graves he’s dug and the bodies he’s buried . “ so put some neosporin , slap on a band aid , and keep going . it’ll ache , but at least it’s healing . and if you’re good the doctor might even give you a lollypop. ”
