he’s got a lot to go on already,  asha thinks as she flips slowly through the pages of the file she’d plucked from the top of the stack he’s gathered.  photos  &  names impress themselves upon her memory,  smiling faces attached to lifeless bodies with paperclips.  there’s  so much  information here that it could be daunting to decide where to start.  but there’s little else to do but dive in,  so asha folds herself into an empty chair,  long legs crossing as she skims the crime scene reports.   ❝  obviously  i’m gonna want to go through all these on my own,  ❞   she says,  glancing up at her new partner.   he’s young,  but if the sheer amount of what he’s collected so far is any indication,  he’s  serious  about his work.   ❝  but why don’t you start me off.   is there a lead you’re following right now  ???   ❞   smile flashes,  as brief as it is sharp.   ❝  or did you call me because you got  stuck  ???   ❞

            BAGS UPON BAGS  of clothes litter her arms as she tried to navigate her way through the door of one of the shops she’d just spent  way too much  money at   (  a little  RETAIL THERAPY  never hurt anyone  ). chancing a glance to the side, she noticed some random guy standing there, eyeing her predicament without so much as holding the door she finally got herself through. heaving a sigh, she leveled a LOOK at the other before dumping a couple of the bags into his arms.
