Zamel briefly looks up to greet the young priestess: his apprentice. Yet again, he feels inadequate to be teaching her exactly how to approach something like this...it's far easier to work alone. But Velara chose him to help train the next generation, and if it helps lead to a purer society, he'll do his best with the Queen's guidance...

"I've seen the papers. If this writer wasn't so direct in their critique of us who are wielding justice, I would tell you to ignore them. The sooner you can learn to ignore the whispers around you, the better you can hear the Queen's guidance leading you to purity.

"...this time is unique though. I'm working to trace the magic remnants in this copy, courtesy of Layla. But maybe this would be good practice for you." The Terror gestures for Morana to come to his desk, where the infamous pamphlet about him is lying there.

I watched Good Omens for the first time last week, so I'm a bit late to the party, but I wanted to talk a little bit about the Metatron's offer to Aziraphale.

On my initial watch, I definitely got "Azula tricking Zuko to come back to the Fire Nation" vibes and after a few rewatches as well as a refresher on that episode of ATLA, the parallels are even stronger.

First we have the Metatron and Azula:

They both show up suddenly with grand promises, telling Aziraphale and Zuko exactly what they want to hear. You can come Home. You can come back to Heaven, and so can Crowley. We need you. We want you.

They both emphasize that they are delivering good news, really hyping it up. They are so kind and understanding. Take all the time you need.

But at the same time that they are warm to their target, they show open disdain to their closest ally when their backs are turned.

Next, we have Aziraphale and Zuko:

At this point, Zuko still believes in the vision of the Fire Nation, he believes that they are honorable and right in what they do, and Aziraphale believes that Heaven is the epitome of goodness, truth, and light. The word "indoctrination" comes to mind. They've both been burned by the people they look up to, but are blinded by their ideals.

They're extremely loyal to their side, and there's more than a little denial at play. When Crowley and Iroh express distrust and a desire not to go, they get defensive, they lash out. You don't know, you don't understand.

Finally, we have Crowley and Iroh:

They truly care for Aziraphale and Zuko. They're always there for them and would do just about anything to protect them.

They are a bit more worldly than their companions and are suspicious of the Metatron and Azula's intentions. In our family, things aren't always what they seem. Heaven and Hell are both toxic.

They both receive the same invitation to join the others, to go Home, to go to Heaven, even though the main focus is on Aziraphale and Zuko. The parallels diverge with these two, however: while Azula doesn't really care whether or not her uncle joins them, as long as she gets Zuko, Crowley was never meant to accept the offer. The Metatron draws Aziraphale away from Crowley to talk, they are separated as soon as possible, and a wedge driven between them.

At first, Iroh wasn't going to go, but changed his mind at the last minute. Crowley does not change his mind.

With how similar these two scenes are, I can't help but speculate on what this means for Good Omens. Is this just an elaborate way of kidnapping Aziraphale? Are the angels taking pointers from their last attempt and taking a more subtle, calculated approach this time?

Do they actually want Aziraphale on their side or are they just trying to get him out of the way?

Hello. Salutations. I hope you're well. My name is Eucalyptus. People I know call me Euca. Or Euclid. Or Endless. Interchangable.

I'm 20.

My gender is... A tad complicated. But I've spent a lot of time working it out. I identify as a bit of a girl, but not really in a way that could be binary. But definitely girl. And by that matter, I'm trans. I'm proud to be. I'm still working out getting hrt. I'm somewhat socially transitioned.

I like to go by She/Her and It/It's primarily. Fae/Faer and Bear/Bears/Bearself is also acceptable. They/Them is fine for strangers/first few times, but if you know me please stick to the others.

I still grow a beard. I wear dresses. i wear a trench coat. I like to think I'm a bit of a femme butch. Take that how you will.

a few facts about me:

- I was born in February. My assigned pregnancy cravings food was and is chocolate waffles with cheese on them [I like them with strawberry jelly and chicken nuggets added]

- I am kind of a Sasquatch. Thank my mutually hairy parents and the people before them. I come from a long line of musicians I have Hungarian, Croatian, Czechlovakian, Irish, Scottish, and Romani blood coursing through my veins.

- but for simple ease I am American. WA. Semi insomniac. You get me.

- I like to draw. A lot. I also like to write but it comes and goes. I also make food. I can cook and bake. Im good at grilled cheese. I wish to make food creations that would make the powers that me tremble in fear. Also I listen to and sometimes fiddle around with music. I go to karaoke occasionally.

- I like my chocolate cake with strawberry filling, and a side of tapatío sauce and canned nacho cheese sauce. i compare it to a spicy cheesecake.

- I'm neurodivergent. Autism and ADHD. Dual gifted genetics yet again. I think of it like having high ram processing and laggy response time. My brain Always has multiple tabs and programs open.

- I'm polyamorous. I have a lot of unrequited life and affection and so far I'm dating three people [@tinysweetvoid @neosiaxiom , third not on here] and I love both of them dearly. I don't know how I did it but I did. The power of autistic nat 20 seduction and deduction rolls, I guess?? Oh and I guess I'm somewhere along the lines of Demi. I crush pretty easily.

- I own a couple projects. i mostly work on my project @project-root. I also am apart of the team behind @echrosia. I'll add more of my works as they come up.

- my favorite colors are bruise tone magenta and neon pink. What's yours?

- I like to talk a lot. Not many can outpace me. So far only one person has. But I shall hold the title of strongest yapper ever.

- my favorite movies are Who Framed Rodger Rabbit, Paulie, Up, Monsters Inc, and probably the FNAF movie if I must pick something modern. My favorite shows are Inside Job, Carol & The End Of The World, Batman The Animated Series, Sense8, and I Am Not Okay With This. I don't think I have a favorite song or book. It changes often.
