I had a big brain idea.

Kushina and Hizashi were friends. When Kushina was pregnant and Neji was like a year old she jokingly said their kids will get married. They thought it was a funny joke and nothing more. Hiashi overheard that joke and decided to share it at Naruto and Neji wedding.

Naruto is convinced his mother was able see the future at this point. She knew he’s a boy (in my AU Naruto is trans ftm) and now this?

Everytime someone else agrees or just hcs Hizashi and Kushina were friends, I gain a year in my lifespan

anyways,,,, yes to Kushina having that mother's instinct that you would swear is just future vision at work. She would make a joke about something like that, that just seems like her! She's Naruto's mom after all, haha. Also her knowing he was gonna be a boy is just so funny to me, she knows her child like that mhm.

I can sort of picture Neji's + Naruto's reaction to hearing about that joke years later. Neji would probably find it really funny and quite the coincidence it ended up happening. Meanwhile I think Naruto would swear his mom was psychic or smth like you said, maybe would throw in smth like "See guys, this is why mom was super cool! Heck, she could see the future before I was even born!!" cuz he'd hype up his mom like that LMAO
