I give you perception for the thing you reblogged :)
how about we do that thing where you give me a show/movie/fandom and I’ll tell you:
my favorite female character: I want to say Natalie, but she's not technically real, so I'll go with Kate. She's interesting and really well rounded; she's kickass and adorable all at once. And she serves a purpose outside of just being a crutch for Daniel.
my favorite male character: DANIEL oh my goodness. I think it's great to have a protagonist with a mental illness, and such a likable one too. He can act like an ass, but he's genuinely a really good person. Having Daniel as the main character gives such a good message to mentally ill viewers.
my favorite book/season/etc: Season two. It had the most interesting episodes, I think -- especially "Asylum," "Alienation," and "Caleidoscope."
my favorite episode (if its a tv show): "Asylum" or "Shadow." I love Shadow for the ending; seeing the negative effects that schizophrenia has on Daniel was really interesting. But Asylum for the overall plot. It really kept me hooked. (Though I'll admit that I was on the edge of my seat throughout all of "Dirty." Good gracious.)
my favorite cast member: I don't know much about any of the other cast members, unfortunately, but I really love LeVar Burton and Eric McCormack.
my favorite ship: Ohhh man. Daniel/Natalie. Which might be kind of messed up because, again, she's not exactly real. I also really love Daniel/Kate, but I'm always iffy about it, whereas with Natalie, I definitely want them together 100%. And it sucks because it can never happen.
a character I’d die defending: DOCTOR DANIEL PIERCE. My babe. ;n; I also adore Lewicki, and Donnie also grew on me a lot, but Daniel is number one in my heart.
a character I just can’t sympathize with: Uhh. It's hard to say because they're all pretty sympathetic. Maybe Miranda?? Idk. I liked her so much at first and then she had to go and be kind of ableist about the whole thing. I also don't really like Caroline all that much, which is terrible of me, but continuing a friendship with a former patient is already pretty dicey, especially considering his relationship with Natalie. But then she went and started sleeping with him, and yeah, I just can't really go that place. It's awkward and weird.
a character I grew to love: Donnie! I hated Donnie for so long because he reminded me of my dad (who cheated on my mom with his secretary). Funny story, my dad's name is also Donnie. But then he did what my dad refused to do, and he apologized, and made amends. It showed a lot of growth. He's really three-dimensional and it's fantastic.
my anti otp: I don't have one really. I don't think there's any particular ship that I just absolutely hate. All the canon pairings are good and make sense on some level.
