yesper wip
Redesign of an NPC from my girlfriend's COS campaign :) He needed a new outfit because he broke his vows as a nun (by fucking my PC jkdfhskds). Then, he devoted himself to her and her kin... inadvertently becoming a Warlock of her ultra-powerful father... so, here is his Casual Form and his Fear Form. His pants are Like That because his old design was slutty and I didn't want to lose that, but I wasn't sure how to translate it :// here is his old design!
never posted this here, a leetle doodle of my bard yesper (of curse of strahd fame), currently being put through the horrors of bg3
According to the audiobook, 'Jesper' is actually pronounced 'Yesper' and while that actually does make sense, it's kind of cringey and it gives a whole new dimension to people calling him 'Jes', doesn't it?
Soooo, I took a moment to think about this, and I think I finally came to a conclusion. I've known that his name is pronounced 'Yesper' for some time already but I always read it 'Jesper' because I've been corrupted by the English language.
However, I think the nickname 'Yes' sounds cringy only in English (assuming English = Araluen) and similar languages because in other languages and mainly, in Skandian, the word 'Yes' doesn't have the same meaning as the Araluen (English) version of it. It doesn't have the meaning of an expression of agreement, but it can just be a nickname.
I tend to forget that the Herons do not usually speak Araluen (English) but Skandian. (Btw, I have written a whole thing about my headcanons for the language abilities of the crew, but back then I considered Araluen and the Common language as two different languages.... and I am still not sure about it.) However, to be honest, I think that to be able to see the right perspective, I would have to learn some Scandinavian language and read the BB translation of it... let's call it a long-term project.
But... can we like talk about the confusion the Herons cause when they just randomly put the word 'yes' into the sentences while they are in Araluen?
Well, the High Rollers Crew asked for it, so I decided to deliver🐛🍂🎲
We Didn’t Start The Mire based on their Curse of Strahd campaign and Billy Joel’s We didn’t start the fire.
This is pretty much a summary of the events of HR COS up to episode 33, so obviously beware the spoilers!
Disclaimers: As much as I would like to be a kickass Alto, a kickass Alto I am not. Instead I’m one of dem High Sopranos, so the pitch of this song is... not exactly ideal for my voice. I’m also not a native english speaker, so please let me know if you find anything gravely wrong with the lyrics! I also don’t know the first thing about mixing music, so I’m aware that this is very amateurish, but despite my terror of the whole fandom laughing at this, somebody might end up liking it, hopefully, so here we go! The ending part was a last minute idea, but I like it :) I’m sure other’s have done something like this much more successfully already, but I’m actually pretty proud of how my lyrics turned out, so I wanted to share it anyways😊
Anyways, enough excuses, lyrics can be found under the cut, background track by ProSound Karaoke Band! Headphones probably help and check out High Rollers!
This drawing is called “Eww I hate drawing the Mire so much and I don’t know why I did it again but I guess here’s some CoS fan art”, I hope you enjoy it because I sure didn’t!
One step ahead
