My eBay stuff...

I’m back to digging and finding more of my stuff to sell on eBay.

Luckily, I found a stash of our Native American jewelry from the ‘70s that I’d forgotten about.  I am in the process of photographing them and listing them, and will be doing that through the rest of the year.

For those who don’t know, my late sweetie and her mom used to vacation in the Southwest, New Mexico and Arizona in particular.  They bought what they liked, directly from the artists either in Santa Fe, or at the individual pueblos.

This is the “real deal” 1970s silver and turquoise, with some now-rare deep red mediterranean coral pieces, as well.  Most are Navajo or Zuni pieces. I had thought that I’d sold everything I don’t wear, but found this batch while digging for something else!

One of the “unicorn” models that Zenith produced, this was the 6R980LP, produced one year only, to “bridge the gap” between 78s and the first LPs.  This was 1948-49...ALL “records” up until then were 78RPM.  When the LP was introduced, it kinda threw the industry into a panic, coming up with ways to play the old and new formats on the same machine.

Zenith’s answer (and Robert Davol Budlong’s design):  Give the record player two tone arms!  One for 78s, one for them new-fangled LP thingees.  Keep in mind, kids, the 45 RPM “single” would not come into existence for about another FIVE YEARS.  The same sort of thing would happen then...some very...unique...ways of playing were tried, including two turntables in the same machine!  When Zenith finally came up with the “Cobramatic” with the strobe light, in 1955, the “modern” turntable was born.

Oh, it’s got an AM radio, as well.  That grille and dial just scream “Budlong”! All those wonderful curves!  Curves, curves, beautiful curves!!!

Another iconic album that has been with me for over 40 years. This is the album that made me fall in love with Yes.  When I heard “I’ve Seen All Good People” on my little transistor AM radio, in 1971, at the tender age of 11-12, a deep chord was struck in my soul.
