Tomorrow will be Special; Yesterday was Not (Homestuck x PMMM with @yetanothermiki)
"Jade, are you sure this is a good idea?"
"Yes John, it'll be fine! Trust me!"
Jade set down the wrench she was holding and stretched. She'd lost track of how long she had been working, but the preparations were complete.
Within the Void, as Dave had called it, they were flying adjacent to a multitude of other universes. Jade stumbled upon the ability to jump to these universes entirely by accident when she met a John whose message had reached her on the ship somehow. Later on they had met a Dave, but their meeting was short-lived.
Development of this ability and the exploration of other universes was also a contingency plan. In case they failed to create a new universe in the other session, they may be able to find a hospitable alternative somewhere else. 'It's always good to have more options,' Jade thought.
"I'll be able to monitor the ship while I'm gone, and the time displacement should make it so that I won't be gone long regardless. You should be able to contact me, but the messages will be naturally spaced out on my end. If you don't hear back from me for a while, use the failsafe."
"Okay Jade. I am still a little worried but I trust you. Bring back a souvenir!"
"This seems like a terrible fucking idea but its not like that has stopped any of us in the past," said Davesprite. "Just don't bring an entire alien army down on your head again."
"I won't use my First Guardian powers unless I have to. I even alchemized some new stuff! Well then, i'm off!"
Jade opened her eyes. It seemed to have worked, because this was definitely not the ship. The first thing she noticed was the smell, a dingy metallic scent that clung to her nostrils. It reminded her of blood.
It was immediately apparent to her that the dimensions in this space were all twisted, posing a difficulty to make heads or tails of her environment. Rusted rifles of all shapes and sizes littered the labyrinth, and unidentifiable figures making inhuman noises scraped and scrabbled in the shadows.
"This place is creepy.. I thought I was supposed to be on Earth somewhere?" She scratched her head, wondering what went wrong.
"I guess i'd better go back.." she started to say, before she heard a very human scream.
