“I can’t get through this alone.”

It made Yoona’s heart ache, seeing her friend so helpless. Yerin was sitting on the floor and her head was resting against the back of the wall. She had been sitting like that the moment Yoona and her had stepped into the living room, and it scared the older a little. She had no idea what was going on with the younger, only that something was wrong and that she was supposed to help. If Yoona was honest, she thought of herself as the worst person to ask for support in a situation like this. Seeing others sad only reduced her into an insecure and helpless mess herself, but she couldn’t let that show right now. She wanted, no, she needed to try to be there for her, even if the only thing that she could do at the moment was sitting next to Yerin and waiting for her to say something.

“I can’t get through this alone.” 

It was barely a whisper and still Yoona managed to hear. Her hand automatically reached out to hold Yerin’s, and she gave it a gentle squeeze while she replied in a gentle and hopefully calming voice.

“You don’t need to. Whatever it is, I’m here.”
