Well well well! The @cbercfab #yetixconversion is nearly complete! As with all my previous posts you can see the build up. The conversion is relatively easy to moderate for builders. I enjoy putting things together and making them better/different then what they are. I will be racing this Truck at the #supertruckracingleague this fall, and maybe some SCT races in between. I am using the @pitbullxrc Rock Beast SCT soft and super soft for now. I am exited to get this thing ripping. I need new steering links, but that's an easy thing to do. I have also included a pic of my #losi SCT 3.0 for reference. We are getting close to finishing the @cbercfab #yetixconversion! I replace the stock nylon nuts with the @teamknkhardware 3mm lock nuts for the new bolts to attach to. I shaved the bottom of the yeti chassis for the plate to sit more flush, not a necessary thing to do, but I like a flatter look. With the front of the #slash mocked up to fit, I added the thick 1/4" plate. You have to drill 3 extra holes for additional support, which is very easy and not a big deal and does not hit anything. I added the upper support after loosely attaching the plate. I wanted to make sure we made everything line up, and all screws find their homes. Loving how this has come together thus far. Another update on my @cbercfab #yetixconversion. While I have the Transmission out, I decided to remove the tray cover for keeping the wires protected and in place, I have moved all my electronics to one side. This gives me room to have my holes drilled through for the new chassis plate. Which I'll cover in another post. I used provided spacers when I reinstalled the transmission. It needs to sit a tad higher for clearance and alignment, I used tape to hold the screws in while I set everything up. Installing the battery tray you need to care out a little nook for the transfer-case to poke through. The battery still fits in the tray, I checked after I did the install. Up next is dropping the Transmission out of the yeti to replace the stock output-shaft in the transfer-case to a stronger and longer one. Pay close attention to the way you put the output-shaft in. There is a direction, and you want the longer side to be facing the front of the yeti. You will be flipping the front driveshaft around to make sure the slash front end can be used by the provided output diff cup, which I'll cover in another post. I made the cuts, no turning back now! Basically, you cut the front bulkhead of the front of the yeti, then take the cut bulkhead off the 4x4 slash and mount them up using the @cbercfab 1/4" thick plate. These other cuts are needed for the new plate that goes on the top of the steering and added brace. The Yeti X Conversion is under way! #cberc #thepeoplesyeti #yetix #yetixconversion
