Day Five: A male character (of someone else’s)

Knee-jerk reaction is Skye's OC Paul Wickham. There was some massive world-building in the Sherlock Fandom for me. I play John and to have someone to connect him to his military past was HUGE for me in terms of character development. It wasn't just "Oh this happened and I have PTSD." for John it was, "This is validated, because there was someone there with me who understands." Because no one in John's life really did. So. Yes. Big deal.

Henry spends the first few minutes of his wakefulness groggy and scrambling for something to fix his morning low. He gets up once that's set and brushes his teeth. Puts coffee on, eats cereal then showers and gets dressed.

Henry's first language is English. He is fluent in French, German, and Italian and British Sign. Conversational in Mandarin and Japanese though he will always retain his accent.

Henry has always been appreciative of music. He has a baby grand piano in his London flat that doesn't see nearly enough use. 

This is a fact that Paul comes to learn when they find themselves in an American Blues house in the midst of London. It happens to be during a Jam night where the audience is invited to play. Henry of course, jumps at the chance to play the piano and drags Paul up with him. An acoustic guitar is shoved into Paul's hands against his will though his affinity with the instrument of course is slap guitar. Following Henry's lead they manage a rather impressive ad-lib of a blues song that didn't exist before that night.
