When he was known as Thër, Yevlan had the power to travel through time and dimensions. He lost a part of this ability with his memory, but still is able to play with and alterate time.
The capacity he uses the most is a "protection bubble" in which he can place himself or others to protect them from time. It doesn't last long but helps injured people not to die because it stops the progression of the wounds. On the contrary, it was shown he also can slow down the process of healing so his enemies stay injured longer.
When Yevlan gets his memory and Thër's full might back, he becomes even more powerful and manages to reduce Theraël back to the ashes she comes from, nearly killing her.
On the outside, Yevlan appears as a cheerful and sociable man. His childish and light personality makes him quite popular since he always has something funny or entertraining to say. He acts nice toward everyone in public and makes sure to bond with the most possible people.
He sometimes shows signs of immaturity and laziness, mostly caring about having a pleasant life : Yevlan easily gets distracted from his responsibilities by food, alcohol and fun.
In opposition to his agreeableness, he's actually a manipulative and vicious person who won't hesitate to hurt people or to destroy their lives to get what he wants. He doesn't care about anyone's feelings and always puts his ambitions and desires first. His hunger for power for example, drove him to seduce and marry Theraël, not because he loves her but to earn the title of King.
Despite his lack of empathy, Yevlan perfectly understands how people work and easily manages to gain their sympathy or rise them up against one another. He keeps his wife in total control, blowing hot and cold in their relationship, gaslighting her and making her feel guilty everytime she disagrees with him. He pretends to love her and acts in consequences, but threatened to leave her many times and even hurts himself when she refuses doing something for him.
Because he didn't marry Theraël out of love, Yevlan doesn't desire her and has sex with her just to control her body. He's been cheating on her for over 200 years, mostly with mortals since he's obsessed with them.
Indeed, Yevlan is paradoxically terrified with time and everything it involves. When he suddenly grew up and became an adult, he was upset to understand he was immortal and would never change again. Both the idea of endless routine and getting old scare him, thus he developed a fascination for everything that dies or is ephemere.
It first caused him to be attracted to mortals, then he started abusing children, determined to "have fun with them before they grow up".
He ultimately raped his own son and granddaugher, beating them up and threatening them with death so they wouldn't talk.
Last, Yevlan develops an over-inflated ego through the story. When he discovers he's Thër, he feels superior to everyone and decides to take the throne by force and submit all the Gods to his orders and desires.
Before he arrived on Altea, Yevlan used to be known as Thër, one of the first creatures ever and the soul mate Altea was waiting for. His love for them was reciprocate; in opposition to Altea who died of sadness because of this impossible love, Thër actively tried to join them. Travelling through dimensions and time for this purpose, he accidentally got lost in the future, in year 107, when Altea was dead and turned into a palace already. He was accepted there by Theraël and Klavia who gave him his new name and the duty to control time.
Yevlan brutally grew up and became an adult after Valryn and Acherus were born. He slowly corrupted himself and seduced Theraël to marry her and earn the title of King. In 206, he forced her to keep the children he got her pregnant with, becoming Nisis and Gweldas' father.
Strongly attracted to everything ephemere, Yevlan started cheating on his wife with mortals then built himself a harem using the excuse of teaching faith to the non-believers.
Seeing his sons growing up too fast, he forced Theraël to give him another child, Azran, who was born in 282. In 494, he also had Cyllia with one of his mortal students.
After Yevlan raped his granddaughter Crépuscule, she gave birth to their son Imshâr and his crimes were finally discovered. He revealed his true nature and took the throne of Altea by force, ruling as a tyrant for over 30 years. He was defeated in 540, lost both his eyes and was forced to walk endlessely in a dark corridor without being able to find death or peace.
Yevlan is Theraël's husband and therefore the King of Altea. He had Nisis, Gweldas and Azran with her, but also Cyllia with a mortal woman and Imshâr with Crépuscule. It is said he also is the father of 56 unknown illegitimate children who live on Earth.
Yevlan is known to be a sex maniac and had countless lovers on Earth and in his classes, but also raped many people including some of his students.
He benefits from a high popularity on Altea and is appreciated by everyone except Klavia and Nisis.
Being born as Thër, Yevlan has a strong bond with Altea and a whole-hearted love for them. They are the only person he sincerely loves : it probably is the reason why he wanted to take the throne and to become the only ruler.
Despite his visible indifference and lack of empathy for everyone, Yevlan felt heartbroken every time Altea was hurt (for example when Valryn destroyed half of it, accidentally creating Demios).
As a child, Yevlan showed his love and devotion by lying in Altea's ashes and kissing it.
Yevlan married Theraël to be crowned as a King and never loved or cared about her. In addition to cheating on his wife, he also sexually and mentally abuses her.
He will either give her a lot of affection and attention, especially in public, or on the contrary say and do hurtful things when they argue. Every time he harms her, Yevlan makes sure to apologize and promises her to change : his manipulation skills are usually effective and Theraël always comes back, except in the end after she discovers he raped Crépuscule – they fight and Yevlan almost kills her.
Through the years they spent together, he became able to make her dependant enough to control her entirely. Theraël will always do her best to please her husband, even if it ends up hurting her. Yevlan doesn't hesitate to hurt himself if Theraël doesn't obey him : he forced her to give birth to the sons she wanted to abort and to give him another child, threatening to kill himself otherwise. He portrays himself as a victim and guilt-trips or gaslights her when she blames him for the abuse he inflicts her.
Despite seeing her exhausted and mentally drained, Yevlan doesn't support his wife in his depression, blaming her for not being funny or entertraining enough. His laziness worsens her mental and physical condition because he's immature, unreliable, and puts all the load of his unfullfilled responsibilities on Klavia and her.
He also turns out to be jealous and possessive, to the point of murdering one of her lovers. He's afraid Theraël could leave him, not because he loves her but because he both wants to control her life and keep his title of King.
Yevlan hates Klavia as much as she does : she's the only person he's disagreeable with. He had neutral feelings towards her until she created rules on Altea, because he didn't like the idea of his liberties being restrained.
Their relationship gradually worsened after he married Theraël : Yevlan noticed Klavia was aware of his toxic behavior and he saw her as a threat and an obstacle to his plans. From then on, he tried to split them up so Klavia would be dismissed from her job, but it was unsuccessful. Klavia herself tries to convince Theraël to take his title of king away from him, but it doesn't work either.
Yevlan is resentful of Klavia for insisting on him filling his responsibilities while he just wants to live a carefree life. He is unfuriated to hear about Theraël's affair with her and forbade her to sleep with her again.
After taking the throne, he imprisons Klavia and tortures her for his personal pleasure.
Nisis is one of Yevlan's sons. When he was a child, they struggled to create a bond because Nisis saw him as too immature and irresponsible; yet he still had a deep respect and love for him.
Their relationship degraded during his teenage years : after Nisis accidentally discovered about his infidelity, Yevlan raped him for the first time. He threatend to assult his brother too if he talked about it and carried on with the abuse for 40 years. It stopped in 330 only because Yevlan saw Nisis as unattractive when he brutally grew up.
Nisis is completely traumatized by his father he now hates, despises and fears at the same time. He never hesitates to express it publicly and tries to let everybody know that he is a bad person.
Yevlan doesn't take him seriously because he knows Nisis will never reveal his secret and can't do anything against him. He still sees him as an helpless child he can control using fear and intimidation and has fun mentally tormenting him to show his domination.
Without laying a head on him again, he keeps destroying Nisis' life making him pass as mean when he insults him in front of the others. Nobody understands where this hate and aggressivity come from because Yevlan acts like a loving and sweet father who's treated rudely for no reason. It caused Nisis to lose some popularity, especially from his son who adores and admires Yevlan and doesn't understand why he may not hang out with him.
When he's alone with Nisis, Yevlan sometimes makes fun of him reminding him he doesn't stand a chance against him.
Gweldas is Yevlan's second son whom he's very close to. Like most of his family, Gweldas isn't aware of his crimes and only sees him as the agreeable man he pretends to be.
Yevlan has no difficulty manipulating him and knows he has his unreserved love. They share common traits such as sociability, immaturity and a penchant for fun : they often played together during Gweldas' childhood and created a strong bond.
Yet, Yevlan despises his son for his stupidity and only sees him as a cog in his machine he can easily manipulate and keep by his side.
When he takes power on Altea, he tries to make Gweldas his ally, convinced he will join and obey him. Despite still loving him, Gweldas strongly disapproves of his actions and refuses, finally rebelling against him beside the others.
Azran is Yevlan's third child. He was the one who insisted for them to be born and who raised them since Theraël was unable to do so.
Yevlan acted like a perfect father with them and easily earned his love and respect since he gave them the affection and attention their mother refused to show them. Azran therefore became emotionally dependant of him and trusted him under any circumstances.
In order to keep control on them, Yevlan managed to isolate Azran and rise them up against their own brothers, convincing them they hated and despised them. He is one of the responsible parties of their corruption arc.
Eventhough he told Azran he was the only person who loved him and he would always stand with them, Yevlan didn't hesitate to give them up when they were bannished in order to maintain his reputation and because he despised them for commiting crimes indiscreetly.
During the tyranny, Azran still chose his side and accepted to become one of his bodyguards and his personal torturer.
Cyllia is the illegitimate daughter Yevlan had with one of his mortal students, Aram, and the only one whose Theraël discovered the existence. He was then forced to keep her and she was accepted on Altea.
Yevlan hates Cyllia because he considers she threatened his marriage by her simple existence. Therefore, he wants to get rid of her and would do anything to see her dead.
He acts nice and caring with her but secretly seizes every opportunity to endager her, using her love and trust to be obeyed and put her in risky situations.
