New basic Yex ref for 2024! Was hoping to get a turnaround done but i kept drawing her wrong so i ended up just cleaning up an old sketch i had that i really liked. Also, thought her undersuit would be yellow, but im kinda diggin the purple right now 💜💛

A New Adventurer has come to Maw seeking riches and redemption - Faraday (played by Cat).
Faraday Ringbottom is fascinated with magical items, how they work, and what you can build with them. He’s driven by a curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. And he used to be a halfling apprentice to a wizard.
Jealous of a powerful weapon in her possession and convinced he could build one just like it if he could only look closely at the original, he tried to steal it. She, enraged by his act of borrowing, changed his form into a raccoon as he escaped.
He is not daunted by this change in facade. He still has hands, after all. He still lusts after the rush of finding an artifact, of using what he learns about it to deepen his knowledge of magic and science. What IS daunting to him is that he finds himself forgetting he was ever halfling. His parents faces have faded from his memory. His hilltop village is a blur.
But he remembers the face of his master, full of anger, and power.

They say the highway makes odd companions. On this day, none were odder than the dark-haired woman and little raccoon striding Maw-ward. The woman kept an even pace. For some miles, the ring-tailed creature trotted alongside the woman, then for some miles he balanced on the woman’s shoulder, peering down the road as they moved.
When the pair crested a small rise in the road and sunlight flashed off the horizon, Faraday craned his neck for a better look. It had to be the city. Maybe it was even the gray keep itself. His heart pattered hard at the thought. If the keep was on the horizon it may be only a day’s travel more. The statue was so close he could imagine the cool ceramic in his hands.
He looked down at his hands. Black, padded, and tipped with tiny claws. Hopefully the statue held the information he needed. It was getting hard to remember his hands as they had been before...
