story time: eight months ago we started youth fossils as a little experiment in a moment of desperation (we wanted to write, but where?), and it grew into something that we didn’t expect. it’s been a ride and a great one, but we don’t want to drag it out—it’s time to move on and give youth fossils the graceful little send off it deserves.

does that sound a little over-dramatic?? at the end of the day, we’re still of the belief that roleplaying shouldn’t be taken too seriously. yf has been a fun little place for us, and for those still here and those already gone, we hope that’s what it’s been for you!

this was definitely a learning experience. we know it hasn’t been perfect, but thanks for bearing with us! if this sounds a little out of the blue, it’s because we’ve come to realise that we don’t have the time nor the muse right now to give yf the fresh coat of paint it needs. we’re going to move onto other things, but on the off chance we ever come back with something new, it’ll be bigger and better. 👌👌👌

anyways fam, this isn’t the end! if you’d still like to play your characters, existing members can go ahead and write your little hearts out!! if you’d like to play your characters older and maybe a little wiser, you’re welcome (and encouraged!) to take them to the lovely @knowwhererp. the admin teams have talked it over and decided that heesan and sunhwa can exist in the same canon universe, so you can keep everything you’ve developed so far in greener pastures. some people are there already.

EIGHT MONTHS, FOSSILS!

what a time to be alive✨✨🎉🎉🎉 honestly when YF was just a little brain baby last year we never expected it to get this far!!!!????? ? it’s been a wild ride-- with some ups and downs but honestly it’s been a great experience admin-ing for all of you little fossils. we love that it’s become a little community where we can sit back and plot and write to our heart’s content and y’all are so chill like we couldn’t have asked for better members :’)

so cheers! 🥂 to eight months of ugly laugh/crying, and for many more to come!

ah, september. even though the weather certainly doesn’t agree, it’s back- to-school season for sunhwa-- which of course means back to those glorious all-nighters and nosebleeds in the library~ hope you had a fun summer, kiddos (rip to those taken by the hagwon), because second term has crept with a vengeance; and before you know it, it’ll be the holidays!

Hey friends. Wow has it been an exhausting day. Some of you may be semi-aware of the situation and confused about what’s going on, others might have no idea at all. But we’re just going to go ahead and take a moment to clear the air.

We recently asked a member of the roleplay to leave after we were made aware of certain comments they had written on a public Twitter account by another member. We chose not to put this out there initially because we didn’t want to make this any bigger than it needed to be. Since this has now been made public on Tumblr by some people not in the roleplay, we’d like to know what you think. We broke down the situation from our perspective here. Was it the right thing to do? The wrong thing to do? We know it’s a thin line where the public/private domains are concerned, but we made that call based on what we thought was right. But please, if you have anything at all to tell us, whether you agree or disagree, we would love to hear it. We can also provide a chatzy link if you’d like to discuss it anonymously.

+ In response to two anons we received: to reiterate, we publicized this only after it had already been made public by third parties. We had no intention of coming forward until that occurred. It’s fair that we have a chance to defend ourselves and explain what happened, particularly to members of the comm. If someone is willing to put forward a rebuttal that isn’t inflammatory, we’ll gladly reblog it. There’s more we could’ve posted, but damned if we do and damned if we don’t, we left it to just enough to convey why we arrived to such a drastic decision.
