i think the reason why I have fallen so hard for the original yugioh again is probably that aspect of horror with yami yuugi in the early manga/season 0.
like, everytime the "villain of the week" gloats about how yugi can't do anything to stop him, there's that rise of tension. you know that's basically a death sentence. every second that goes by, your just waiting for yami yuugi to make an appearance.
it's something that you see in horror films. you know what is going to happen to the characters, but everyone else is oblivious.
yami yuugi isn't a renowned duelist. they are a 3,000, vengeful spirit, doing whatever it takes to protect the people they care about.
In all fairness, this should've been Yuugi's first hint that maybe, just maybe he couldn't risk trusting Haga
Mokuba and the Roba bros should probably hang out and play video games or something because how cute would that be
