A Melbourne resident is enjoying an easy domestic life, as he has been constantly fed for years by a Greek yiayia (Greek for “grandma”) who is his next-door neighbor.
The man, named Daniel, has been documenting on Instagram the almost-daily offers of homemade meals, including lots of lentil soup, over the fence separating the two properties. All the lovely neighborliness and philoxenia has been recorded in videos to be found under the account called “yiayia next door.”
The entire account is literally just videos of the man as his older Greek neighbor Nina passes various plates, pots, bags, and bowls of leftovers, fruit, biscuits, and fresh-made treats over her fence to him.
