Brown Sugar Pearl Tea Latte
📍Yi Fang
Week 22/52: May 28th - June 3rd 2019 | Young Dumb & Broke
Weekdays & weekends spent working again. Weekdays at bubble tea are more chill than before because I’m only there 3 days per week. Weekends spent at night market are fun because it is always filled with so much free food LOL. Deep fried squid, Taiwanese fried chicken, deep fried cheese hot dogs, souffle pancakes, tofu desserts, icy bar desserts etc...... you name it, I get to eat it!!! So blessed!!!!
Went to the library and Yifang with Vicky on Sunday before my shift. Submitted one job application (at the library) and got an email back one hour after o_o” ,,, Yifang was such an unpleasant experience because shitty service from the person who was taking the order (((((: ! They didn’t even fill my cup to the fullest =_= ... I did not spend $7 to have it be 95% filled wtf........ ok ya sorry my expectations for bubble tea places are really high because I know that I do better than them for the most part lmao. Anyway their cane milk was really delicious but I probably won’t have Yifang ever again lmao :P !
On Monday (day off), I went to Mister and Hiro’s Stew House with Charmy. Today was her last day in Richmond :0 ! Mister was so good... super yum creme brulee ice cream heh.... it’s yum but very expensive ($8 omg),,, though they have great service uwu !! Hiro’s Stew House was yum too!!!!!!!!! I got their eggplant/fish pot and it was so flavourful. The portions were HUGE. I had trouble finishing everything X’D not to mention, their pot lids are SO CUTE! >0< yay!!!
Week 19/52: May 7th - May 13th 2019 | 小龙坎老火锅打卡!🍲Authentic Chengdu Hotpot
Okay ngl,, the photos of this post seriously makes it look as if I’m in China (???)
It was super warm during the weekend (literally summer weather). I went to BBQ Chicken and Yifang with Patricia before work on Friday. The chicken really was not good lol.... but it was $9 for the whole thing so I’m not even that mad lol. The sauce was good (we got the soy garlic, I think...... lol I kind of forgot wtf) but the chicken was SO dry....... I want to try their chicken again but next time I want to order the ones where they fry it on the spot instead >< ! After chicken, we walked around Aberdeen very briefly before heading to Yifang. I finally tried their fruit tea and it was delicious! I accidentally took Pat’s drink so I drank full sugar and she drank my half sugar (did not realize that we took the wrong drinks until I was home and had finished drinking and eating all the fruits lmfao dead). But Yifang’s fruit tea is yum!! Totally recommend~
On Monday aka my first day off after 11 consecutive days of work lol I went to eat Xiao Long Kan with my parents for dinner. It was SOOOOO good~~~ the hot pot base and their ingredients were all so delicious. We ordered the spicy soup base with the tomato base in the middle. We also ordered medium spicy which was not even That spicy lol. I can totally survive in Sichuan are u keeding me!!!! Also, the tomato base was DRINKABLE!!! And it tasted SOOOO BOMB (the vegetables cooked inside that base was so good I almost cried lmao) ~~ I ate until I was super stuffed!!! I also tried their 冰粉 (jelly dessert) and it was yum even though alcoholic af LOL ,,,, and I got arctic ocean 北冰洋 because I didn’t get the chance to drink it in China last summer! Mmmmm yummy~~ Satisfied :^)
XLK was so expensive though lol after tax it was $140 for three people?? But worth it for special occasions I guess lol. Anyway I’m glad that I got to go hehehe. I can maybe wait a whole year before wanting to go again. Still so many hot pot places that I want to try! >:P I can’t believe I really am the expert/king of hot pot now. uwu

Another YiFang opened…this one is in the same strip mall as Burlington and Daiso. YiFang uses high quality teas from Taiwan and real fruit (no powders or juice concentrates). Their menu seems a bit limited but maybe that’s because they just opened. They have teas, milk teas, fruit teas, and tea lattes. You can specify the size (medium or large), level of sweetness, level of ice, milk substitutes, and toppings (e.g., boba, aiyu jelly, grass jelly, pudding, aloe, sago), etc. There isn’t any food but they will add waffles later.
Place your order at the register. They don’t have their rewards system set up yet. Rewards are location specific.
Peach fruit tea (Large, $6.25, no sugar added, less ice): This had bits of fresh peaches, a bit of lime, and a light colored tea. The peaches were sweet, so no added sugar was needed. The peaches and tea went well together and I also liked the addition of lime.
Most YiFang locations look like a food stall in a Taiwanese night market. It’s a small shop with benches for seating (and no tables). Free wi-fi.
