Shanties; Yip-Yap

Eapep remembers little from his previous life; a kobold can serve many functions, but a simple life as the pet of a Half-Black-Dragon-Dark-Giant was easier than most. His master was seldom cruel, as he knew his mighty scaled fist could easily crush the slender form of Yip-Yap, as he was affectionately called. Though many kobolds spend their lives in the enslavement of dragons or other monstrous beasts, toiling to create impressive traps or massive war-machines Yip-Yap was content with his food bowl made from a troll skull and his crystal water dish. He lived a long, happy life, and died on his 121st birthday surrounded by his master’s family. They loved their past pet so much they wrapped his corpse up in sacred sheets before entombing him in a traditional (by crazy underdark giant standards) golden quadrahedron so that his energies would be carried to the astral plane and know peace. This was not to be the fate of Eapep’s soul, however; though he remembers little, a distinct memory, glowing in his mummified mind like white-hot coals, burns through the core of the once-more-arisen kobold. Eapep remembers a glorious light, a shining pyramid of pure energy, and the voice of Joshua, Dog-King of the Underworld and Ruler of all dead pets. He remembers that Joshua spoke to him. The words were lost, but Eapep knows where the glorious citadel is –in the deepest reaches of the underdark- and that Joshua, his new master, is waiting.
