the scalding heat was slowly but surely painting [name]’s skin a feverish red as the rising steam started to fog up everything it could in its way.

he didn’t move to fix it.

it didn’t bother him. it couldn’t bother him.

it couldn’t bother him because his mind wasn’t registering the sharp stings of pain from where the water came in contact with his skin, not the whiplash he would’ve felt as cold tears glided from his blank, unmoving eyes to his burning skin if he could, not the tremble in his legs. the sensations felt close enough for [name] to realise them, but far enough for him to not actually feel them.

his eyes—empty and clouded—were fixated on the tiles decorating the wall, one arm mindlessly rested against the cold material in an instinctual attempt to keep his body upright so that he wouldn’t fall head-first into the ground. that was, if his legs wouldn’t give out.

the water acted almost as a white noise, it’s melody not changing even a fraction as [name] stood still, enveloping every other sound there was until there was nothing left to hear except the haunting laughters that belonged to no one and everyone; [name] couldn’t really grasp what they were laughing about.

or if they were even laughing.

sounded a bit like screaming if he was being honest. either way, it felt annoying—annoying and ear-piercing. what a goddamn mood lifter.

the door swung open.

[name]’s brain only registered it as a shift in the air. a disturbance.

it was so quiet and small, so… subtle that at first he thought it was just a breeze that managed to squeeze itself into the bathroom from a crack it found. maybe mother earth’s effort to snap him out of it.

but he didn’t acknowledge it. didn’t move, didn’t straighten his posture. though now that his attention shifted, he could hear something else other than the white noise that had taken over his ears moments ago (or maybe minutes.. or maybe even hours. he didn’t know).

a.. stomp? it felt muted against his ears, but it was there. getting closer…

—it was only when he felt a touch on his waist that he moved. more specifically, flinched.

though the shock from the touch was short lived now that his senses slowly started coming back to him alongside with the touch—fuck, it stung.

his eyes squeezed shut instinctively as he gritted his teeth, letting out a pained mewl. it probably sounded pathetic, but [name] had bigger problems to worry about right now.

atleast he wasn’t the only one affected—a very familiar, rather deep voice groaned behind him, followed by the spray finally turning off.

it all happened too fast for [name] to react. next thing he knew, ink black hair flowed down on his biceps, arms he recognized all-too-well wrapping around his naked and now shivering form (the touch of a cold breeze after a boiling hot ‘shower’ wasn’t the best as it seems)—suguru.

“..hey..” geto mumbled against [name]’s neck, voice slightly muffled. his voice was loud enough for [name] to hear, but quiet enough to not alert his already overwhelmed senses. like he was scared of fucking it up.

breathe, [name] thought, leaning back against the boy behind him. breathe.

the room was enveloped with a somewhat comfortable silence (if they ignored the slight tension) before [name] finally found the courage to speak again.

“..hey.” his voice was a little croaked as he breathed out. a fact they both chose to ignore.

“..you want me to stay?” a silent but clear offer they both didn’t dare to say out loud. do you need help?

[name] attempted a chuckle before nodding, though it sounded more like a humorless and dry snicker. anything to break the tension. “you sure you aren’t here to oogle at me?”

suguru laughed at that, letting go of [name] and sitting on the toilet seat lid, making himself comfortable. “maybe. you got a problem with it?”

[name] sighed, the corner of his lips twitching upwards. “..no.”

“mpm dmgimm smpnms—”

the light from the moon illuminated suguru’s room a midnight blue color as satoru’s mindless rambling with a mouth full of whatever he could find filled the space, followed by suguru scolding him for speaking with his mouth full as [name] searched around suguru’s wardrobe.

..this guy really didn’t shut up at all. it was almost respectable how dedicated he was to talking everyones ears off.

after throwing a random shirt on, he plopped down next to satoru, sighing at the soft feeling as the matress dipped under him.

satoru, being the noisy guy he was, didn’t miss the opportunity to point out whatever he saw. “what’s up with your leg?”

“its nothi- hh—!” [name] hissed—more out of suprise than pain—when he felt a slap on his thigh, kicking the air.

satoru only snorted at the reaction, leaning forward to mess with him further which earned him an “asshole” in response.

he pouted at that. it wasn’t everyday that they got to see eachother this long with the missions piling up, might as well savor it, right?

he was just trying to joke around with his best friends! and he was getting scolded! it wasn’t fair!

suguru, like he just read his mind, responded for [name].

“we’re tired, your majesty the strongest.” he said, followed by a sigh of irritation and a slap to satoru’s forehead.

“auch! im just trying to make the most out of it!—when will we see eachother this long again? also, stop saying that! we are the strongest! don’t leave me alone with this title—”

[name] couldn’t help but let out a chuckle as the two continued bickering, throwing an arm over his eyes.

maybe they would be okay.

..maybe not right now.. but eventually. they would.

in our world, lloyd would be half greek from his dads side & half japanese from his moms side.

although attending a boarding school for the early years of his life, he can speak japanese fluently because he chose it as the language he’d learn. he didn’t even know he was japanese at the time. he continued learning it after he left.

adding to the last point, lloyd barely looks japanese. majority of his physical demeanour comes from his fathers side, even though he believes he doesn’t look greek.

lloyd can’t speak greek at all, but he can read parts of it. understands words here and there. his father was never in his life to teach him, and he overall had no interest in learning the language until his uncle wu started showing him greek literature and mythology.

because of this, lloyd loves & has a heavy tie to the mythology. he finds it quite enticing and loves the rich history behind it. he feels like it’s the only part of his paternal side that he can connect with.

lloyd can speak russian. it’s his 3rd language. before finding out his other half was greek, he heavily believed it was russian.

russian and japanese are two very comfortable languages for him. he’ll find himself using russian words while speaking english or japanese, and vice versa in all circumstances.

lloyd doesn’t like swearing in english or japanese. it feels wrong to him - they both seem like such sweet languages. as soon as he starts speaking russian, that breaks. he starts swearing uncontrollably. he’ll mutter russian swears underneath his breath when mad.

lloyd is very tied to japanese culture. as soon as his mother stepped back into his life, he wanted to know EVERYTHING. he’s gone through multiple rabbit holes of japanese legends and myths. yes, he believes all of them.

sometimes, lloyd wishes he’d look more japanese than greek. no matter how many excuses he makes for his absent father, he doesn’t want to look at himself in the mirror and see his father staring back at him. it breaks a bit of him everyday.
