trying not to infodump about my alterhumanity on my friends got me looking like:
Being alterhuman isn't always obvious. Sometimes it's in the little things.
It's in the way I pull back my lips and bare my teeth when I yawn.
It's in the way I extend my fingers as if they were claws when I stretch.
It's in the way I move and the way I talk, the way I see and the way I feel.
It's simply me.
god forbid a man meows
I love telling people I'm a cat person because they don't know that I also mean it literally.
Yeah, I'm a cat person. I like cats. I'm also literally a cat person. A cat that's a person. A person that's a cat. I'm a cat person
Petsitting as an alterhuman is so weird like wdym a coyote is feeding the bunnies and a cat is looking after another cat, like there's a sky kid in your house looking after your hamster hello???
My friends know I'm alterhuman, but they have absolutely no idea about my strong desire for animalistic affection.
Like, I NEED to sniff you so I can learn to recognise your scent, I gotta rub my head against your shoulder and scent mark you, I wanna wrestle and bite you and chase you around anD SLEEP IN A PUPPY PILE AND-
"You don't seem like you'd be a coyote-"
AND I DON'T HAVE TO
Identities are much more than surface level appearances and behaviour, and no one has to "look" or "seem" like one of their kin/kith types.
Animals, mythical beings, fictional characters, etc etc, can have different personalities and traits that make them unique.
A lion doesn't have to be strong and courageous. A dragon doesn't have to be big and powerful. A rabbit doesn't have to be meek and fragile.
How we experience our alterhumanity and nonhumanity is unique, and it's not solely dictated by what we are and who we identify as.
Just because I don't "seem" like I'd be a coyote doesn't mean I'm not one.
The past few weeks have been a little confusing in terms of my alterhumanity, and I saw a few other beings making visual diagrams and mind maps explaining their identities, so I figured I'd try the same and it has been INCREDIBLY helpful!
I'm an odd mix of both keeping my alterhumanity vague and not worrying about labels while also wanting to dig deeper and understand the specifics, and this mind map thing I've made has helped me discover new things about myself while also confirming things I already knew.
It looks incredibly confusing at first because of all the connections, but now it's given me a clearer understanding of how all these different parts of me overlap and link to one another
