Hiccup x reader (w nightfury!!)
Summery - you spend time with hiccup at berk and meet some more of his friends
Warnings - probably spelling errors, one swear at the end, let me know if I missed anything!

The next morning you woke up to voice's just outside your door, barley loud enough to take out in your still half asleep state
Your dragon was already wide awake, sitting right next to your bed and huffing twords the door, clearly not liking that there were more people she didn't recognize
You slowly push yourself out of bed and quietly make your way to the door, your dragon following close behind you as you listen to the conversation just outside the door
"come on hiccup! Tell us who the new person is! Astrid said you brought them here yesterday"
"yea I wanna meet them!"
The first two you hear speak definitely seen like a loud pair just from the way they spoke so loudly
"guys quiet down! Your gonna wake them-"
"Is there really another nightfury that came with them? Astrid said they had one with them!"
"come on! That can't be true toothless is the last one remember!? Astrid must've seen wrong there's no way this random person has a tamed nightfury"
"Guys seriously-"
Before you could listen in onore of the conversation or even wait for these new people to leave your dragon decided otherwise as she used her about to force the door open
"D/N wait-"
But is was already to late, the door was wide open as she stood hlaf out of the room, you standing behind her as the group of people and hiccup where all looking at you, well more so you dragon but hiccup was only looking at you
"uh......hi?"
You awkwardly speak as your dragon huffs, toothless now popping up from wherever he was and trotting up to your dragon with zero cares in the world
"oh my thor"
The one who spoke was a tall and skinny blonde guy, looking insanely similar to the girl next to him, both of there mouths wide open in shock
"Astrid was telling the truth??"
The next one to speak was the shortest guy there eyes looking directly at your dragon who was glaring at the group, ignoring toothless attempts at getting her attention
"that's a real nightfury! What gender is it? It looks a bit bigger then toothless and maybe a larger wingspan? It's hard to tell in here-"
The larger guy started to mumble to himself as he attempted to get closer to your dragon, quickly pulling back with a yelp when she trys to bite at him, only stoping when you pull her back
"guys give them some space! They've only got here yesterday"
"Yea, yea, we know"
Snotlout scoffs at him and crosses his arms earning a small glare from hiccup
"anyways, guys this is y/n, y/n this is snotlout"
He gestures to the short guy and he puffs his out proudly
"yep! I'm the best dragon rider out here, don't listen to hiccup"
"Snotlout."
Hiccup warns but before anything happens the skinny girl with blond hair steps forward
"I'm ruffnut! The better looking twin"
"You are not! I totally look better then you!"
The two start fighting and hiccup just sighs
"the other one is tuffnut, there twins and the biggest trouble makers in the village, and that's fishlegs over there"
Fishlegs gives you a small wave, he definitely seems like the more tolerable one of the group so far besides hiccup
"uh hi.."
You mutter with a small awkward wave to the group your dragon only huffing in an unhappy manner
"I can't believe there's another nightfury, one with a rider to!"
"yea guess hiccup isn't the only gifted one here hah!"
The group erupts into chatter that was either about you, your nightfury, or some other random topics the twins managed to put in there somehow
(time skip to eating breakfast in whatever the buildings called (🥲) cuz I'm ✨lazy✨)
After convincing your dragon stop stay outside with toothless (you didn't wanna draw more attention then you already had plus she don't like people 😅) you follow hiccup and his friends into what you assume is the biggest building in berk
You instantly are surrounded by the smell of fresh bread and whatever meat was being cooked
You tried your best to ignore the eyes of other vikings staring at you, probably wondering who the mysterious person was and why they were sticking so close to their chief
You get a plate of the food they were serving for breakfast and end up sitting at the edge of the seat next to hiccup, who was sitting pretty close to you, probably because there wasn't a lot of space on the bench right? Yea we'll go with that
You dig into the food that was on your plate, all of it delicious and new since you don't normally find this sorta thing out in the woods but yourself, you were used to berries or cooked fish most of the time
"how are you liking berk so far?"
A familiar voice near your ear, just loud enough for you to hear, when you look up hiccup is looking at you with a soft smile while waiting for your answer
"it's... alot...but it's nice, I've never seen so many people so content with dragons like this.."
"yea most other vikings don't shake of their beliefs so easily like us"
He says with a slightly awkward chuckle, shoulder brushing just slightly against yours, making you blush faintly, it was nothing- just a small brush purely innocent right?
Well if you were to look up at him you could easily miss the faint red tint of his ears, Surely that couldn't mean anything right?
"hey uh...if you want maybe we could go for a flight with our dragons or something? I can show you around more or simply just enjoy the nice weather?"
"oh uh- that actually sounds fun"
(time skip because again I'm ✨lazy✨ and can't think of more dialogue for the others~)
You and hiccup successfully manage to sneak away from the others without question, finding your dragons who where both curled up napping together in the sun
"come on follow me, the other side of berk is beautiful this time of day"
Hiccup says as he trots over to toothless who lifts his head with a grunt like noise, stretching and standing once he realizes yall were going somewhere
Your dragon just yawns, taking a few extra moments to streatch and get up, then trotting over to you with a look that says 'fine let's go I guess'
Then you and hiccup are up into the air, the wind rushing past you and ruffling your hair as you follow hiccup
"so where are we even going?"
"you'll see!"
He says over his shoulder with an excited smile
You follow after him until you both reach a small pond in a indent of the earth itself
"it's so beautiful"
You mutter as you dismount your dragon, hiccup dismounting toothless not long after you
"it is isn't it? this place is where I met toothless"
Hiccup sits down on a big rock near the water as toothless and your dragon wander to either explore or play
"toothless seems so happy to be here with you"
You say as you watch the two dragons wander, toothless trying his hardest to get your dragon to play with him
"yea, ever since I uh... accidentally shot him out of the sky-"
He mutters as he awkwardly chuckles and scratches the back of his neck
"- we've been best buds ever since"
"that's incredible"
You say with a small laugh at his awkwardness as you sit down next to him, shoulders brushing
"so how did you and (d/n) meet? You both seem close to"
Hiccup blurts out after a few moments of silence, watching as your dragon paws at toothless for doing some random thing
"oh uh- I've actually known her since I was little..we basically grew up together"
"really? How did you find her at such a young age? My village never seen a nightfury before toothless because of how rare they were"
You pause for a few moments
Sould you tell him? That there were more nightfurys then most realize?
You sink into the pros and cons of telling him, only realizing you've zoned out yet again when hiccup nudges your shoulder with his own
"hey everything ok?"
"yea-"
When you look up you realize how close he really was, faces only inches apart, both your faces turning red
"I-im fine-"
You mutter nervously as you look away, hiccup clearing his throat awkwardly and suddenly finding the sky very interesting
Oh fuck it
"actually- I have something I should tell you"
He glances back over at you, face still tinted red but still interested in what you have to say
Here goes nothing-
"hiccup...our nightfury's aren't the last ones"

sososososo sorry for the long wait!!! I hope the wait was worth it (the end was a bit rushed so sorry if it's not the best!) I can't promise the next upload will be out quick but who knows ig?
Kinda failed at the romantic tension for this chapter so I'll try again in the next chapter!
Anyways I appreciate feed back and constructive criticism! It's my first time writing for them so any opinions is appreciated as long as your not rude about it :]
Also I'd love to get some ideas for things you guys wanna see in future chapters! I'm making this up on the go so if there's something you guys wanna see feel free to comment it and I'd love to put it in somewhere
Current ideas for future chapters - race on the dragons, riding the same dragon together, helping your dragon actually like hiccup, cuddling!!!! :D
