in my mind suguru is bisexual but i think he dated a girl in middle school purely for appearance sake (she asked him out, he was a little tired of the rumours— there are enough about him as is—) that ended badly by virtue of his acting not being convincing enough / his inability to feel anything but passing fondness for her, and that was the end of that. a cool, pierced senpai stole his first kiss, but she transferred before it could become anything more. and that’s like. the end of his hetero escapades (/j, lh, etc) as far as i’m concerned. i think he had sex with manami at some point probably but that’s much later. (and casual— he needed a moment of intimacy and she needed an outlet for stress…) i will always push my sugusho agenda but i think overall his hs years were very much for coming to terms with his attraction to sincere, bright-eyed guys …… and as for the middle school realization i think he fell for a quiet classmate with fidgety hands. he walked him home a few times.

I have such a clear and specific mini animation in my head to the csh lyric “there’s no angel on one shoulder and devil on the other, they’re just two normal people” for my characters from my wip but in 10 years of writing them I’ve never once drawn them and I also can’t animate ! oh joy
