Wait no yeah about the prison and the people snitching on Superman and each other right
Like that is what happens in a surveillance state, they’re in fully transparent boxes. They literally have no privacy and so anyone can know what anyone is doing at any point. And so there’s no need to have like people watching them all up close bc they will police each other - for fear of getting punished alongside the “wrongdoer” or for the hope that they’ll get preferential treatment for doing the guards’ work. And then, anything can become a “wrong” action and one can frame another for anything as long as enough people say it
And how that correlates with current society is that online, anyone can become “cancelled” at any time and as long as you’re the one pointing out all these “wrongdoers” then you /cant/ possibly be one yourself right? Until someone else turns on you. So this causes self-policing (self-censorship like “unalive” etc) and the policing of others
