underexplored line in the dispatch fandom is flambae saying “it is you” if robert reveals hes mechaman, implying that flambae suspected that robert was mechaman and ignored/denied it for some amount of time. like it didnt come out of nowhere for him and thats so much worse. especially from a flambert/mechabae angle, like flambae is falling for robert while subconsciously aware of who he is and trying to convince himself that hes wrong, that robert was just some geeksquad no name normie hero and not the guy who both ruined and lowkey saved his life and then having his worst suspicions confirmed and literally blowing up

Okay but yeah if we’re looking at this in the angst perspective then Benjamin Poindexter truly just has been used left and right. Everytime he’s sought out it’s turned into him being exploited, manipulated, and ordered/nudged to the do the dirty work as Bullseye.

They had him used as a scapegoat for the FBI, then as a weapon by the likes of Fisk and then Vanessa and now even Matt— albeit you can say he was nudged into that direction (which counts imo because Matt is well-aware that Bullseye has an ‘itch to scratch’, and if not: You can also then refer to when Matt called him up in s3 to inform him Julie was murdered just so he could tip Dex into crashing Fisk’s wedding).

It’s tragic Dex has come to genuinely accept this is how it’ll always work out for him; that this is how his logic and the equation of the system works. In the recent s2e7 you can see it in the way Dex already knew what was expected of him when he saw Matt come in to free him. He waited patiently at that cot knowing there was another target to kill because.

Well that’s what he’s only ever been good at, isn’t it?
