I was thinking about how Ymbrines work (biologically), and had a thought. What if there was a transmasc Ymbrine, which led to another: transfem Ymbrine. What if when the universe (or whatever it is that gives peculiars their gifts) is creating Ymbrines, it works using gender rather than biological sex, so when a male Ymbrine is born, everyone thinks it’s odd. Then she comes out. And that’s how Ymbrines are only women
