Aphrodities au x Trojan war (and maybe a bit of Epic the Musical)
I'm not sure if this count as Spoiler, but after much thinking I've decided that IF I ever get to write the au until the Trojan war times, these will be the three main guys Perse will have a problem with.
3. Odysseus
Why: He threw a baby over the walls of Troy, if Perse hadn't caught him, Astyanax would be dead. She also thinks that his men were menaces and he should have brought them back to Ithaca immediately.
What does she do about him: Life is already punishing the man enough, besides, Perse likes his wife (in a completely platonic way, she's a happily married woman) and Penelope is better off married to him.
If she gets called to God Games; She'll be a level 3: her reasons to dislike Ody are solid, but she votes to release him anyway. Penelope needs her husband, Telemachus needs his dad and that's, like, Athena's first friend in centuries, but she still does not care for the man
2. Ajax the Lesser
Why: A rapist who had way too much fun sacking Troy
What does she do about him: In the original story, after he fucked shit up in Troy, dude was going back home when Athena got her father to throw a lightning bolt on the man's entire fleet. He survived with Poseidon's help by clinging onto some rock, proclaimed he was better than the gods, then Poseidon drowned him.
In this version, he never got to the rocks because the moment he hit the water, Perse's sharks got to him
Small scene
Zeus, watching Ajax the Lesser be slowly ripped apart by sharks: Really, niece?
Perse, shrugs: I cannot control how or when they feed.
Zeus, deadpan: They started eating him cock first
Perse: They probably thought it was shrimp
Athena: Not like there was much difference
1. Achiles
Why: Achiles raped/tried to rape Apollo's 13-year-old son (which means that he was Perse's 13-year-old baby) Troilus before brutally murdering the boy inside of his father's temple and leaving his body on the altar.
What does she do about him: Perse could not smite Achiles due to the situation they were in (and the fates needing this one puppet till the end) and hurting him would be quite difficult seeing that he was still carrying the Styx's blessing, so she cursed him instead.
From the moment Achiles did what he did, he could no longer drink anything that held water in it without it turning into acid the moment it touched his mouth.
When he died: Perse gave her favorite Uncle/ex that's still sweet on her the suggestion that Achiles should be the spirit that guards the Styx's waters instead, and of course If he did not want to do that fir eternity, he always had the choice to reincarnate...oh, wait, if he does that then he'll never be seeing Patroclus again...
Moral of the story is that Perseira Aphrodities does not fuck with any of these bitches, has a really good part in Epic, was the first woman in recorded history to refer to a man's dick as shrimp sized and probably the villain in song of Achiles
dc x pjo where Percy was adopted into the Wayne family at a rather young age (probably not long before he started getting send the country by the gods like some wannabe errand boy, and probably because his mom died in a tragic but completely mundane way. people die all the time, and contrary to popular belief, Sally Jackson is not, in fact, immune to death. she probably will make a great friend out of Persephone though. that’s a problem for future Percy).
he’s taken in around the same time Jason is, probably because they helped each other while on the street (i lied; it’s because Jay saw himself in the little orphan boy with an absentee father who just lost his mom and adopted him on sight. Bruce couldn’t have separated them even if he wanted to), but Jason is at least a few years older than him. the two of them are stupidly close, which means that when Jason dies it doesn’t go over well. Percy’s not dealing with his grief well, Bruce is somehow dealing with his grief even worse that Percy is, everyone is sad and grieving and etcetera, so truly, no one foresees the way Percy would run away over it.
baby Percy is sad and grieving and he just lost his big brother and his dad won’t pull his head out of his ass about it so he goes back to the one other place where he knows he could get support, aka camp half-blood. he completely drops off the map and no matter how hard the bats may try over the years, they can’t seem to find him. he just vanished, and eventually the searches come to an halt, because clearly Percy doesn’t want to be found (they willfully ignore the fact that they are the best detectives in the world and that Percy is a teen with, to their knowledge, barely any training; Percy’s probably dead and none of them are ready to accept that possibility)
obviously, Percy’s missing-ness only adds oil to the fire when Jason gets back, and thus everything that happens with that is much worse and much angstier. he still reconciles with the family (eventually) but the grudge he holds against Bruce for losing Percy sticks and surpasses even the one he held against him for keeping the Joker alive. much angst. his siblings understand, to some level, (not really, most of them never even met Percy, they don’t know him like he did, they don’t understand his grief) and mostly let him be broody by himself. Bruce understands too, but he’s a self flagellating idiot who thinks he deserves this shitty relationships with his son as a punishment for his mistakes and doesn’t do anything about it, never mind that it’s hurting Jason just as much as he’s hurting him.
ANYWAY
years later, after going through two wars, Percy lets himself be convinced by Jason (Grace (his boyfriend (he calls him by his last name because it’s weird even to him to be in a relationship with a guy who shares a name with his dead brother (if you don’t like the ship get lost. this is my prompt and i do what i want)))) to try and reconcile with his family. he’s absolutely not ready (or willing) to deal with Bruce again so with the help of his friends he manages to track down Dick’s address and just. shows up.
Dick about has a heart attack when, as he’s riding off a concussion in his flat or something (i don’t know, i feeled like giving him a concussion just now), his missing brother just shows up at his door with the biggest dog he’s ever seen (Mrs O’Leary is here to provide emotional support (service dog Mrs O’Leary?)) looking both sheepish and vastly uncomfortable
"lol when i hear people say 'grace' these days i have to question whether they're talking about jason or ryland" how about both. they look alike enough. glasses wearers. physics nerds. likely to befriend a creepy spidershaped monster they meet in space for the heck of it. goofy asf. would be responsible for the first miscommunication with aliens.
jason grace didn't die, NASA launched him to tau ceti spread the word
Fic Prompt: DCU/PJO crossover where Paul Blofis is related to Bruce Wayne
There's lots of fics where Bruce Wayne is Sally's brother, but in canon we know nothing about Paul's family, so Paul could easily have a billionaire vigilante brother or cousin or smth and not have told Sally and Percy about it!
I don't know enough about the DCU, and I've got enough to do with my existing wips, so I don't think I'll write it, but I'd love it if someone else writes it! And if you do, pls tag me in a reblog or reply to this post! I'd love to read it!
If you'd like some ideas to start, I've put them under the cut
Paul could get a phone call from Bruce abt "did he know his girlfriend's son / step-son is a terrorist? Or maybe in a cult?" Could happen at any point from 'The Titan's Curse' onwards
Maybe Paul could have gone no-contact with Bruce, and that'd be why he's not mentioned in canon
If Paul and Bruce are brothers and no-contact, why? Is it to do with Batman?
As always, the jokes about adopting black-haired, blue/green-eyed traumatized boys would abound, but this time it's directed at Bruce and Paul
Does Paul know about Batman?
If Paul knows about Batman, could he possibly reach out between 'The Lost Hero' and 'Son of Neptune', and ask Bruce to keep an eye out for Percy?
As always, how does Paul explain the monster attacks that the Batfam might see?
If Paul does reach out during 'Heroes of Olympus', how would he explain that Percy has amnesia, and if the Batfam sees Percy, what they should do? e.g. should they not interact with Percy and just call Paul? How would they respond?
Lots of questions, not really any answers, hope this is a good starting point for someone!
