Our friends at Electroyoga are hosting an exclusive evening of their fusion of dance, yoga and fun, followed by a hefty dose of retail therapy from some of the newest and most stylish yoga apparel and accessory companies there are. A portion of all their proceeds will be donated to Yoga Foster, and you can be sure we'll be getting our groove on then, too! Learn more on their website.

El ABC de los Animales Australianos
We're really loving this trip to the down under in the midst of all the NYC snow. Plus, it's refreshing to find a yoga book for kids that's delightful and simple, and all the more rare to find them in Spanish! El ABC de los Animales Australianos by our friend Giselle Shardlow at Kids Yoga Stories. This simple yet comprehensive ABCs book helps guide children through a tour around Australia and meet all the animals down under, with poses to match.
It's just as good of a resource for teachers looking for extra inspiration for their lesson plans, as it is for parents interested in introducing yoga to their kids. Who knew there was so many animals from Australia to explore!

Researchers at Duke University are studying whether a program that combines yoga and other therapies can benefit children's mental and physical health. "It calms you down. It relaxes your body. It lowers your heart rate. It lowers you respiration, and in general, it reduces the effects of stress on your body," says Dr. Murali Doraiswamy.
Doraiswamy adds, these relaxation responses can help mild depression and sleep disorders. Yoga may also provide additional benefits for people with schizophrenia and ADHD, when combined with standard drugs. "The benefits were of the same magnitude of the benefits we see with psychiatric medications," Doraiswamy says.
10 Millennials Who Are Changing the World
I was thrilled to be featured on ABC for my work with Yoga Foster and the other random things that come with being a 23-year old trying to make it happen.

A wonderful conversation with creativity and education advocate Sir Ken Robinson, whose work is a fundamental part of the Yoga Foster curriculum (he's even on our site)!
Probably the only time I will be featured alongside Tavi Gevinson for...anything.
