Character isn't something you were born with and can't change, like your fingerprints. It's something you weren't born with and must take responsibility for forming. - Jim Rohn We're all ever growing, changing, shrinking, expanding and learning. I'm gonna take more time off of SM to do so at my own pace. And in light of the transitions that I'm breathing through right now, I just want my peace. Coming back was too much, too early, too soon. Catch you cats next blue moon. But before I bounce, I had to #stopdropandyoga for my PreciousPanda ( @pauladhy ). Laughter is an instant vacation. - Milton Berle It doesn't take much to make me happy. Just give me some grass and trees and let me get a little bit nakey on my lunch break in the park, and I'm a happy camper.😂 Why share serious poses when I can share some laughter of me trying to push up into crow, yeah I was laughing too. Then falling out of a headstand that I can do a million times perfectly. Yeah, it was a good little lunch break. On my next post, I should be back to Fred and Susie (F&S).😊🙏 PB&J to my #yogapatnas #LifeisGood #OneLove
"Hello. This is Nurse Beth from East Medical Hospital and I am in charge of patient, Susie Padfield. Are you her boyfriend or family? She has ICE by your name in her cell phone, so I’m calling you." “Yes, Ma’am, I am her friend. Is she okay?” Fred deeply inhaled a lung full of smoke and calmly asks, nervously anticipating the response. “Susie is fine, except for minor burns on her left leg and still unconscious from the smoke she inhaled from the fire. Her vital signs were okay and we’re watching her closely. “She is out of the ICU. You may visit her at her room 514. Please see me or her doctor when you come.” “Thank you so very much, Nurse Beth. I’m on my way right now.” Fred turns around and gets back into his car, turns the ignition and checks the gas level. He knew that he was low, but didn’t know that he was half way between a quarter tank and empty, and East Medical Hospital is well on the opposite side of town. He pulls his wallet out of his pocket, already knowing how much cash he had, but sometimes taking a second look can sooth worry, or inflame it, all depending on how you take it. Fifteen dollars to his name and Susie had the rest of his cash for a surprise Birthday party for his Baby Sister a week from now. Shacking his head at all of the issues that’re piling up, he pulls out of the parking lot and heads east towards the interstate to get gas by the exit.
"What’s that noise," Fred asks himself out loud, as he pulls up to the gas tank, "Oh, boy! The wheel is wobbling. Please don’t let me have a flat?" Getting out of the car, he looks at the front driver side tire and drops his whole torso, limp over his waist, arms dangling in disbelief. “Heavenly Father,” in his sarcastic tones, “Why play Games with me Now, Lord! Why!” Fred exclaims. But as cool as a cucumber, he pulls himself back together and walks into the service station and waits behind two men that talk as if they’re about to score some Honeys tonight. “Yeah, Man. Did you see how she was grabbing all on me at the spot?” One asked the other. “But did you see her friend?” the other man retorted. Fred paid them no mind. Not even to the lady counting pennies, dimes and nickels, in front of them to buy a bottle of Corona. She had on a blue jump suit and some black laced up sandels. She was cute, but it wasn’t even registering to Fred at the moment. He thought, “If only she could count a little slower, then maybe she would be counting backwards.” Starting to get frustrated, he focuses in on the little girl with the lady. She had two pretty pig tails and a yellow skirt on, with cute white shoes. She had her hands on the counter trying to pull herself up to be nosey. His thoughts momentarily drifted back to when he was that small. Then he thought of the little girl that Susie had promised him that they would bring into the world together. His heart melted and dropped him back into reality. “I’m waiting in this slow ass line, to get gas, to go see my badly injured Soul Mate. Plus I got a flat tire,” he complained in his head. They used those types of phrases often because they were really unique; Soul Mates. If they were in the service station together, Susie would be talking to that little girl by now, telling her how pretty her hair is and how beautiful her smile is. That’s the type of woman Susie is, she’s always making people feel loved and special. But for now, Fred has to get gas and figure out how to deal with that flat tire. Finally, the lady counted all of her change and didn’t have enough. “How much is she short, Sir,” Fred yelled out to the cashier. “Fifty cents!” He yelled back. “Aight Ma’am, please let me pay the rest for you,” Fred offered. He just wanted to get moving. Two minutes had already passed! “Thank you, Sweetie,” the lady smiled at him. “Have a blessed day, Baby.” “Yes, Ma’am. You too,” they exchanged as she left the store with her paper bag in one hand and little pretty pigtails connected to the arm that the other hand was holding. Now for the horney, hot ass, dudes. One of them slapped a box of condoms on the counter, and the other slid a case of Coors Light up there, as if it was the winning lottery ticket. “We gonna go in tonight, Bruh!” “No doubt,” Frick and Frack encouraged one another. “U-hu, get yo ass along, Dude!” Fred was thinking to himself. “I need to get to my Baby!” “Hahaha, yeah!! It’s Friday night and I don’t have work tomorrow,” the light skinned dude announced to his compadre. “Dude!” Fred thought as he began to get super annoyed, “Just give the man the loot and bounce the hell out of my way.” “Finally!” Fred thought as they got their change and laughed arrogantly out of the store. Fred walked up to the counter, as the man behind him slid his Bud Lite on the counter beside him. “Sir, do you have an air pump?” “Yes I do. It’s by the road,” pointing out the window. “How much is it?” “Free. Is that all you need?” He asked with a tired tone. “No Sir. Please give me fourteen on pump six? Thank you,” he politely told the man as he handed over the cash. “Next in line, please,” Fred heard over his shoulder, as he hot footed it to the gas pump. While pumping his gas, he saw a familiar white Toyota Camry with a familiar head pumping gas adjacent to him. He tried to ignore the dude and remain out of sight. “Damn, he must be on his way to the hospital too? “I wonder if Nurse Beth called him too? If she told him about me?” The dial slowly turned to $14.00 and Fred got back into his car. Slowly pulling around to the air pump by the only exit, he got out to throw the air in the tire. The Camry was pulling off and about to drive by him and he turned his back to the car as he pumped the air. “Man, should I still go?” He whispers to himself as he pumps the air, “But I gotta see her! Okay, I’m going. Whatever happens, happens,” pumping himself up with his words. Getting into his car and turning his radio on, to help him focus, their song comes on, Meth and Mary’s “All I Need.” Not breaking a stride, he throws the car in gear and peels off; hoping that that Camry wasn’t gonna be there when he got there.

"As the orbit of my life tilted my awareness towards your presence," Fred began, "The sunshine of your love eradicated the winter of my despair. “I never knew life until you shined your love upon me. The sky is bluer and you have me trying to decipher the songs of the birds during mid day. “You are what I reach for as soon as my eyes part in the morning. I scamper, reaching for you. If I couldn’t touch you, I would probably suffer pains that I fear being aware of. “Your eyes are true life to me. In books I’ve read about a glimmer of light that can be seen in the eyes of your Soul Mate. “Well, I haven’t seen a light in your eyes, but I’ve seen what I believe God truly is through you. “You are my Soul Mate, Susie. I love you.” “And I love you too, Baby,” Susie responded. “I know that you love me. And even though you talk like a Renaissance poet at times, I know that your love is simple and true. “We’re gonna work out our issues. God has offered us a gift. Who are we to give it up so easily. I still have pain, but I’ve never known love like this before. “I love you, My Soul Mate.” “And I love you, Baby.”

"You look at my past and see something that hurts you," Fred told Susie, "but my past isn’t you, Baby. You’re my present." “But you lied to me,” Susie said as a glimmer of sadness sparkled in her eye. “No, Baby. I just didn’t know how to tell you.” “Same thing, Baby. Now how can I trust you?” “Look into my eyes, Baby. You can trust me. You can feel it in my heart.” “My heart is walled off from you now.” “Baby, that hurt so bad. But I hurt you first, I understand.” Fred walked closer to Susie. But Susie backed away. “Please don’t,” she asked. But she needed his arms more now then ever before. Her pain divided her. Should she embrace her Soul Mate and enter the fear that compete vulnerability brings, or should she enter the fear of what loneliness and a one-of-a-kind loss will bring. “What to do,” Susie thought to herself. “I need this man. Not out of desperation, but because he really is my Soul Mate.” Fred could read her mind through her eyes and her body. He stood away from her, leaning against the wall like a half broken walking cane. They were two #OrdinaryPeople brought together by Divine Hands, standing at a crossroads.
Love is simple and plain, but our lives are sometimes a mess. Fred and Susie are Beautiful Souls, Mated together by the hands of Fate and Destiny, but will they brave the storm to live a life worth living or simply walk away from what they feel that God gave.
I don’t know. But maybe they should #TakeitSlow Give themselves time to think, time to feel, and time to breathe.
