Have you ever held Virabhadrasana 1 (Warrior 1) for 5 minutes on each side? Long holds focused on your breath, alignment, engagement, present in the moment, body shaking wanting to quite. A Yoga pose begins when we want to come out of it. That moment when we hit the threshold of discomfort and pain and no longer think you can continue is when the pose truly begins. Having the discipline to stay in the pose focused on the breath is Yoga. When you control the breath you control the mind. When you control the breathe and mind you can control the body and go beyond what you think you can do.
