I rlly liked yoi by itself, without the fandom it's a really sweet story about just the normal anime tropes of falling in love without any unnecessary drama, and ends up still being a sold sports anime about ice skating much more then romanticizing the relationship between the two main characters. However, the fandom just tried to turn it into "Yaoi XD" which the original material is kind of exactly the OPPOSITE... imo it just goes to show how shitty preteens are :(

yeah i’m not saying you can’t find yoi good representation especially if you’re a mlm!! but personally i don’t, and seeing people put it on a pedestal just upsets me. but like, i am by no means saying people can’t enjoy it or see themselves in it on a personal basis!
