Despite saying it would only take him a few days, Yellowjacket’s prosthetics took nearly a month to make. It was equal parts due to the fact that Weasel was milking access to Pym’s lab as long as possible, and due to the merc finding the challenge far more interesting than he expected. It had been a long time since he’d worked on anything that wasn’t meant to be a weapon, and that proved to be incredibly motivating.
“So, here they are,” Weasel gestured at the legs displayed on his workbench, he’d called Yellowjacket over as soon as they were done, “I really outdid myself.”
Initially, the plan had been fairly basic. Just a pair of prosthetic legs expressly designed to aid Yellowjacket in combat. Nothing fancy, just a pair of metal legs. However, as he worked he continued to think of ways to improve, and by the end of it he’d created something that was equal parts a work of art and a tool.
Mechanically, they would allow Yellowjacket a level of control down to being able to wiggle each toe individually, and visually, they were almost indistinguishable from any other leg. Weasel had painstakingly hand painted each leg, and even affixed toenails to each toe. He’d stopped short of individually adding leg hairs, and only because it would have significantly increased the build time.
