yingender: an umbrella term for all genders that are yonderine in nature (yin). can also be used to refer to either a gender that is not fully defined, but is definitely yonderine, or a gender in which yonderinity is its defining feature.

for a request! colors are mostly taken from/inspired by the yonderine and yonderi flag, and the yonderine post is also the coining post for yingender.

flag id: a flag with 7 stripes, with the fourth being twice as large as the rest. in order, they are tan, gold, brown, sage green, plum, bright purple, and silver. end id.

I love your posts so much, I wish you were my Shakespeare teacher :) I have a doubt, what’s the right way to write ‘yond’? Is it ‘yond’ or ‘yon’? I’ve seen both and I’m confused.

Both ‘yon’ and ‘yond’ are correct; they’re just truncated forms of the word ‘yonder’ and are generally used as adjectives as in this line from Romeo and Juliet: ‘Yond light is not daylight; I know it, I’ (3.5.12), or as adverbs, as in ‘But look, what lights come yond?’ (Othello 1.2.28). ‘Yon’ (and probably ‘yond’) can also be used as a pronoun for a thing or a person in the distance, as in ‘what do you think of yon?’ but, as far as I know, Shakespeare never uses it in this way.

Early modern English is flexible, so the same word has many spellings, although most editions homogenise spellings to make it easier for the modern reader. You can count how many times Shakespeare uses ‘yon’ over ‘yond’ in different editions (folio and quarto) and such, but sometimes the spelling choice isn’t Shakespeare’s but the scribe’s or the typesetter’s, so it’s difficult to say what he originally wrote. 

The reasons for using ‘yond’ or ‘yon’ rather than ‘yonder’ are quite obvious: either it’s a metrical choice, since ‘yon’/’yond’ is one syllable, and ‘yonder’ is two, or it works better for the flow of the sentence in context. The latter might be said for using ‘yon’ or ‘yond’ too: ‘yon deer’ would work better than ‘yond deer’, which is awkward because of the repetition of the hard sound.

観光以上 定住未満 ＝ 関係人口 という方程式みたいなの知ってる？

それに違和感をめちゃくちゃ持っていた。

「関係人口って何？」って人もいるよね。

観光で来るわけじゃないけれど、定住している人でもない人たちを指す言葉が関係人口なんだ。（個人的にはちっともいいネーミングではないと思う）

最初は、私自身のことを、関係人口だと思っていた。

でも、関心があるだけじゃなくて、定住もしてないけど、観光で訪れているわけでもないけど、めちゃめちゃそこで活動する人もいる。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　（そんな人おるん？と思うかもしれないが、何より私がそう）　

月に2回も自分が暮らさない場所へ通い、活動している。　　　　　　

住んでいるのは東京だけれど、和歌山で起業した。あら不思議、土地も購入した。倉庫も2つ建てた。住む家はないけど、駐車場も整備した。（えー何をやってるん？そんな声が聞こえる）

そう、私は、完璧に関係人口のレベルを越えているんじゃない？そう思った。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

「これは新しいネーミングを考えるべきだよ」そう思った。

何が良いかを思った時に、『越えてる人』でまっさきに思いついたのが、BEYONDという単語だった。

BEYONDERで『越えている人』なんていうのもあるなと思いながら、BEYONDの単語の成り立ちが気になった。

BE（存在する）YONDを辞書で引いた。（向こう）そういうことだったのか。『向こうにある』『越えたとことにある』BEYONDはすごい言葉だと思った。　　　　　　　

じゃあBEYONDERで良いかと言ったらそうは思わなかった。　　　

観光で来る人でもなく、そこに定住している人でもない。関係人口でもない。

第4の人　四人（よんど）、YOND。

向こうがどこかはわからいけど、越えたところに行きたい。

そう、今日から私は、YONDを自己紹介に加えることにした。YONDもやってます。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

関係人口以上の人を今日からYONDと言おう！
