So YONDER app is shutting down, and taking all its translated Korean novels with it, including Heavenly Idol (aka Holy Idol), which does not have any unofficial fan translations. With the official translation taken offline it will essentially become lost media.
I quite enjoyed Heavenly Idol despite the translation errors, so I paid something like £9 on unlocking chapters when it wasn't free to read but had to stop because it was so absurdly expensive (a novel with over 200 chapters, and £9 only got me about 40 chapters in). I was upset that they were shutting down the app and ceasing access to it.
So I was kind of happy when they said they'd move all the novels to Wattpad ("kind of" because the comments section on YONDER and Webtoon are great fun, and Wattpad just does not seem to have the same audience) and eventually said "we'll compensate anyone who bought novels, if you fill out this form."
Well it turns out they sent me my compensation with no notification emails. Did not upload Heavenly Idol to Wattpad (I subscribed and have checked the emails every single day hoping for it, they're only adding three books a day and many of them are multivolumes of the same story). And now the compensation is expiring already?
I also cannot find for the life of me anywhere on the Wattpad website that shows you how long you have left before the coins expire, or where to buy any coins. Clicking the balance on your profile just shows you instructions saying you can buy 300 coins for $40! It seems one novel costs around 1400 coins.
So yeah. Fuck this entire thing.
