Yonji Vinsmoke Relationship Headcanons
𓆃 Extremely proud with little regard for others, but unlike his older brothers who carry themselves a bit more highly strung, stroking Yonji's ego in the right way can get him wrapped around your finger with a bit more ease.
𓆃 A bit more ease compared to his brothers. At the very least it's possible, but Yonji's mean streak isn't to be underestimated, and dealing with his behavior requires a certain amount of stoicism and a firm hand.
𓆃 Yonji is very feedback driven and constantly monitors your reactions to his actions. He likes doing things to pull the biggest reaction. He's also a harsh judge of those reactions, and will pounce on any sign of perceived weakness.
𓆃 Too much meek resistance or disapproval at his cruelty is a surefire way to make yourself the subject of his torment, and once he sees you as evidently weak and beneath him, there's little that can be done to change his mind.
𓆃 Although, you'll likely be the subject of his bullying at some point in your dynamic anyway, given that, at the very least, hovering and being a general nuisance is Yonji's way of flirting.
𓆃 And unfortunately, this means riding the line between taking control of your dynamic and not looking like you're taking control.
𓆃 But, at the very least, it doesn't take much to keep Yonji engaged. Playing your interactions right and saying just enough to keep yourself interesting to him (or rather, playing hard to get) can skew things in your favor.
𓆃 Yonji does, after all, wear what few emotions he has on his sleeve. And out of all three Germa princes, Yonji is by far the easiest to read.
𓆃 And whether you're pursuing him or he's pursuing you (which is probably likely), keeping his attention is the name of the game in order to ensure your safety.
𓆃 Like his brothers, Yonji is also scornful, viewing potential lovers as more playthings rather than actual people. And with his shallow perceptions of beauty and his inability to truly contain himself when it comes to people he may fancy, it's more likely than not that any perceived slight is met with raging scorn.
𓆃 One positive is that Yonji typically doesn't resort to outward extreme physical violence to cope with these types of negative feelings. However, his petty nature and never-ending persistence
𓆃 Although that same petty nature can be used against him. All three Vinsmoke brothers aren't immune to having their egos stroked, but Yonji is most susceptible to flattery.
𓆃 Any mentions of his strength or recognizing him for any other feat is a good place to start.
𓆃 Calling him "Big Guy" every so often is a guaranteed way to have Yonji eating out of your hand.
𓆃 You'll have to play the game by ear, quickly recalibrating whenever your current strategy fails— and it will.
𓆃 Many people forget that Yonji is smart, and the one difference he has from his brothers is that he'll occasionally feign ignorance until you've dug yourself into a pit you can no longer escape.
𓆃 Even if you were to win his favor, most things that he may "do for you" are oftentimes done for himself. This mostly means a lot of showing off, although he could be conditioned to bring back favorable gifts.
𓆃 Yonji is overall a very dynamic pursuit that requires a lot of patience, strategy, and balance. You need to keep things interesting enough to keep him from being bored, but he can almost be trained.
𓆃 While it might be distasteful to speak of him like he's a dog, that's what Judge himself quite literally programmed into his DNA.
𓆃 He might not be outwardly affectionate— or affectionate at all— but he's eager to please and thrives off keeping his brain stimulated.
𓆃 If you make your moves right, you could gain a very decently loyal partner... that is, until he sees you holding the leash.
