when you first met yoonbin, you thought he didn’t like you

because he had such a stone facial expression

*jihoon’s voice* just stone

and he also had a aura that screamed “hello, peasants, your ice prince is here!!!”

you were trying so hard to be his friend, but what was the point in trying if he genuinely didn’t like you???

right?????

instead of making assumptions, you decided to ask yoonbin yourself

“hey, yoonbin.” you tried your best to keep yourself composed. “please be honest with me. you don’t like me, right? it’s okay to tell me the truth. i just don’t want to annoy you if you truly dislike me.”

yoonbin was taken aback and you were able to see it in his face

that was your first time you’ve seen an actual expression from him

“huh? what made you think that i don’t like you?” yoonbin asked

not only was he shocked, but so were you

you were expecting him to admit that he hated you, but things went the other way

and now, it seemed like he didn’t despise you

not even one bit

“well, when we talk, you barely say anything. on top of that, your face says it all.”

“that’s just my face.”

yoonbin began to explain to you that he’s just like that as a person, so don’t think any wrong of it

“i actually like having you by my side. it’s refreshing because i usually don’t say much, but you’re so talkative with me despite that.” he added on, lowering his head a tad bit

he likes the change and how contrasting you two are

at that moment, he also liked you 

as in more than friends

but he kept that to himself and felt like he’d tell you that another time

he’s so shy when he’s around you!

“yoonbin, did i already tell you that you’re my favorite person in this whole entire world?” you joyfully said while clutching onto the side of his arm

instead of responding back, he pulled down his baseball cap to cover up his face

you didn’t get mad that he didn’t respond back

because you knew that he was staying silent because he constantly turns into a soft wreck whenever you say such sweet words to him

most of the times, he lowers his head and pulls down his cap whenever he’s blushing

he’s too embarrassed to let you see him in a state like that

but you find it absolutely adorable (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

kisses between you two are usually very sweet

some people rush their kiss, but you guys like it to be very soothing and slow

sometimes, yoonbin chuckles in between your kisses because it just makes him remember how lucky he is to have you

yoonbin’s laughter is quite contagious because you oddly laugh too once he begins to

ya’ll are softies in the inside <3

an activity that you both enjoy doing is listening to music with one another

you or yoonbin would play a song

and you two would just listen to it in silence

once the song is over, you both would then discuss how beautiful the melody is, ways the song could have improved, how relatable the lyrics are, ect.

the songs tend to be more on the newer released side (so you two can experience listening to it for the first time together)

and if it wasn’t a new song

then yoonbin would play beenzino’s and dpr live’s songs

because he’d love it if his lover loved the same songs he loved

i purposely used love so much in one bullet point okay

every time you leave yoonbin’s house, you always come out with a new baseball cap or with a hoodie

at first, he would let you borrow his hoodies during the times you get cold

but now he gives it to you just because he likes seeing you wear his clothes

“take this before you leave.” he simply says, tossing his blue hoodie towards you

“why?” you questioned him as you stood in front of the door

“aren’t you cold?”

“not one bit.”

“okay, then you’re probably going to get cold later on.”

“i don’t think i will. i’m heading home and i have a bunch of my own hoodies that can keep me warm in my closet.” you tilt your head as you tried your best to understand what yoonbin exactly means

“well…” he pauses before he turns his back towards you “just keep it until the next time we meet.”

as talked about before, yoonbin doesn’t say much

you’ve never heard “i love you” spill out of his mouth

but you’re in no rush to hear him say it

you believe that he should take as long as he needs to in order to say and properly feel those three words

although, you can feel that the day will come soon

you believe so because yoonbin does things that makes you understand that he truly loves you in subtle ways

he buys you a bunch of mini gifts

solely based on the fact that it reminds him of you

“i saw this plushie while i was shopping. it’s cute and also it reminded me of you, so i bought it thinking that you’ll probably like it.”

“are you saying i’m cute just like this plushie?”

another gift he tends to buy you a lot are flowers

but every time he does this, the bouquet of flowers are always different

since flowers have symbolic meanings to them

he buys you flowers according to how he feels about you

carnations - ‘i miss you’: to signify that he dearly misses you when the two of you have been separated for quite a while

violets - ‘loyalty’: to show you that he is loyal and will always continue to be loyal to you, giving faith to your guys relationship

summary: rumor has it that yoonbin had never loved you from the start. wordcount: 1.6k a/n: if you’ve read my jihoon story, fifth time’s the charm, then i’d like to tell you all that this is a small spin off to it! in there, i shortly described yoonbin cheating on you, so i decided to write a portion of it and make it into an angst scenario just because i love bad endings. this scenario might make a little more sense if you’ve read my jihoon story (shameless promo rip) also, if you already didn’t know, “to hear something through the grapevine” basically means you informally heard something through a gossip or a rumor!

“Do you want to know what I heard through the grapevine?” A mysterious hand appeared on your arm, gripping tightly as if they didn’t want to lose you from their sight. You gazed at the pale, yet delicate, hand and followed its body to the owners face, only to find Junkyu at the end of the pathway. You’ve never had a liking for Junkyu. Never did and never will. Everyday, he spends his precious time gossiping around school and ridiculing you for whatever stands out to his attention. “I don’t care what you have to say.” You shove your arm away from the boy and attempt to proceed through the hallways, but you were abruptly caught in his grasp once more. “Are you sure?” This time, Junkyu comes near your ear, so close that you could feel his cold breath hitting the surface of your skin. “Rumor has it that Yoonbin doesn’t love you.”

⠀ Normally, you would swallow your pride and deal with his malicious words as you smile and move on, but things were different when it came to Yoonbin, your boyfriend. You quickly turn around to face Junkyu and dart your eyes towards him in a angry manner. “Are you serious, Junkyu? You can talk about me all you want, but don’t you dare say anything about my boyfriend.” The blood within your system was boiling and you were so fired up that you almost mistaken the current season as summer. “Please, just mind your own business.” “I know we don’t get along, but I just felt nice enough to tell you this because I tend to feel bad for the poor and needy.” His voice was so calm. Too calm. It deeply frightened you because you had no idea what he was hiding underneath his sleeve. “The poor and needy?” Your voice shot up and fellow students began to stop and eavesdrop your guys conversation. “Are you talking about me?” You scoffed to yourself because this was perhaps the most ridiculous thing you have heard of all week long. “Isn’t it noticeable that I’m talking about you or do I need to actually say your name for you to get the point?” Even if you tried your hardest to come off as strong, Junkyu would always be there to beat you down. “You’re poor out of love because no one simply loves you. Due to that, you’re so needy for Yoonbin’s love to make up for it, but he just doesn’t love you the same as what you may think.” His lips curls into a smile, but it ran on a cold malice instead of any form of genuine affection. Terrifying, as you may say. The more Junkyu talks about it, the more you begin to believe that Yoonbin potentially doesn’t love you. You slightly shook your head in denial because you couldn’t let this spiteful boy come in between your relationship you had so much faith in. “Why am I supposed to believe you? What do you know about Yoonbin?” “I just know.” Nothing good was coming out of the discussion and you couldn’t stand to be a part of it as the seconds pass by. Instead of pouring fuel into the fire, you merely roll your eyes at Junkyu and pushed his hand off of you, irritably walking down the hallways right after. Class was starting soon and you couldn’t risk getting marked late because of a pointless discussion you had no interest in to start off with. “Y/N?” An additional voice called out to you as you heard dashing footsteps occurring down the hallway. You turn around to see Jihoon, out of breath, holding onto your wrist. In the far distance, you could still see Junkyu staring at you as if this was all a part of an elaborate plan of his. “Is something wrong?” Jihoon questions while panting for air. “I’m sorry, but I’m really not in the mood to talk right now.” You take one last look at Junkyu in the background before stepping away from Jihoon. Jihoon was beyond perplexed because this was not like you. Usually, you would tell Jihoon all of your worries, but this time, you chose to keep it to yourself as you couldn’t even hold a proper conversation with him. When Jihoon turns around, he’s introduced to Junkyu’s wicked smirk and came to a understanding that Junkyu must be the person behind this, but there must be more to it. By the time you walk into class, all you could hear were voices surrounding your presence and eyes following you like surveillance cameras. You couldn’t tell if these voices were actually real or if Junkyu’s words has finally made its way to your head after months of torment. “Did you hear about what happened earlier?” A girl gossips from the back of the class with her fellow classmate. “Hear what?” “Y/N and Junkyu were arguing in the hallways. I think Junkyu was telling Y/N that Yoonbin didn’t love them, but I’m not exactly sure because I couldn’t hear clearly from all of the whispering.” Her loud voice encircled around the classroom, not caring if her words made its way to you because all she wanted to do was to make the rumor spread like wildfire. “I sort of believe it. I doubt Yoonbin really cares for Y/N because Jeongwoo told me that he saw Yoonbin on a date yesterday, but the person he was on a date with wasn’t Y/N.” “Was he on a date with Junkyu? I’ve heard that Yoonbin and Junkyu have been having this small fling going on for quite some time, but it could probably be people just blowing it out of proportion.” “No, it wasn’t Junkyu. Jeongwoo said that he would’ve known if it was Junkyu, so it must be a completely different person!” She snickers a small laugh that only her and her classmate can come to comprehend. “With looks like Yoonbin’s, I can’t blame him for going out with so many people at once.” The gossip continued before class, during class and even after class. No matter what, you couldn’t run away from it as every person around the corner had yours and Yoonbin’s name included into their sentence. You didn’t care about it being school hours because you just needed to talk and resolve it all with Yoonbin before anything gets thrown out of proportion. (And also before everyone’s words damages you) “Is it true?” You mumble underneath your breath, not having the strength to say it loud enough as you aim your head towards the ground. The fear of Yoonbin never loving you looped around your mind until there was no room for anything else. He’s clueless about the situation, you’d like the believe, despite it being false. “You miss me so much that you couldn’t wait to see me until school is over?” He puts on a fake smile, throwing his arms around your shoulder as if everything is fine and picture perfect. You forcefully push Yoonbin off of you, demanding for an answer. “Yoonbin, answer me! Is it true?” Without asking what you meant by “Is it true?”, Yoonbin smile fades away and you recognize that Yoonbin knows exactly what’s going on. He’s caught red handed and this whole time, you thought you two would never come to this point in the relationship. “Please, I’m begging you, tell me that it’s not true.” You can feel your voice getting thinner and more vulnerable to cracking. Tears began to form in your eyes and Yoonbin wasn’t there to wipe them away. “Please tell me that those rumors are false and everyone is just saying this all out of pure boredom. Please tell me what Junkyu said was a lie. Please tell me you still love me. Please tell me that you’ve always loved me─” “I’m sorry.” “I’m sorry?” You repeat after him in disbelief. “That’s all you can say?” By the time you gain the strength to finally look up at Yoonbin, you could already feel your tears streaming down your cheeks. Why can’t you stop crying? He doesn’t deserve your tears and emotions, but you were too naive to prevent this in the beginning of the relationship. “I don’t really know what to say right now.” There was no tone in his voice and it was almost as if he didn’t care enough. You stood there in shock, wanting to run home and leave this horrible campus that was filled with nothing but noises that bled you ears out. You wanted to run away, but at the same time, you wanted Yoonbin to hold you back and plead for forgiveness, but he didn’t. Yoonbin could care less and it took you months to finally notice this factor of him. “How many times?” You ask out of the blue, trying your best to not let your voice tremble. “What do you mean?” “How many times have you cheated on me?” “I’ve lost count.” The moments your words stopped was the moment your heart officially broke. You’ve never experienced this pain before and you almost came under the impression that your world was breaking into tiny pieces. To know that someone you dearly cared for never cared for you in the same way was enough to make you sob into the palms of your hands. You couldn’t stop yourself from crying, and at the same time, Yoobin didn’t want to stop you because he doesn’t love you enough to give you the time and attention. You end the conversation by walking away with a certain heaviness in your heart, and in addition, all Yoonbin did was watch you walk away, not moving an inch to attempt to run after you. Deep down inside, you profoundly wished he did.
